Speaking to one of my neighbours today I was surprised to learn her 11 year old twins still believed in Santa. They've been to see him, sent him a letter, sprinkling reindeer dust in the garden tonight (?) - the whole lot. Think I found it more bizarre because she'd taken them for a bra fitting the same day as visiting Santa! I know its none of my business and too many kids grow up too fast these days but just wondered what kind of age others were when they worked it out.

My eldest is 9 years old and she told me she doesn't believe, however lot of her friends who are 10 apparently do. A lot of kids say they believe in Santa because their parents tell them they won't get any presents if they don't.
my friend's son is 12.5 and still believes in Father Christmas. I am gob-smacked!
i was pretty young probably 6 or 7 - i stayed awake to see santa bring my stocking and got the sight of my dad stark bollock naked bringing it into my room

that killed santa for me :-)
My 9 year old doesn't believe but plays along for the sake of the others. He's away with the fairies most of the time and occassionally he forget he doesn't believe.
Of course there's a Santa, my wife told me.
Fluff............. sorry to hear that.

PMSL!!!
My grandaughter (9) hasn't believed for some time as her idiot half brother, 11 years older than her, told her when she was about 5. I was pi**ed off but what can you do?
There is a tiny little bit of me that still believes just a teensy weensy bit.
Quoi, if you believe, he will come tonight :o)
its funny now, back then i was traumatised
I still believe in mccfluff, though I'm starting to have a few niggling doubts.

These poor lads are going to have a rough old time at big school if this isn't addressed.
Children are very able to distinguish fact from fantasy. They don't seriously believe three bears made porridge and most work out the Santa story with help from friends and family.
I don't think infantilising children does them any favours.
Lol @ chewie
don't be ridiculous.. the three bears made porridge!!!!
That's very true, mosiac, I hadn't thought about big school.

I have cleaned out the hearth today, just in case (Mind you, he'd need to be a very snake-hipped Santa to get down our chimney!
These poor lads are going to have a rough old time at big school if this isn't addressed..... I think they might be girls since they had a bra fitting.
^^^ is a 12.5 year old boy.....
Used to think the tooth fairy was a bit of a woopsie who pulled teeth.
