I've arranged to meet this guy on Saturday and I feel nervous about him but hope we get on.

Your own experiences will surely make you feel more understanding, irrespective of the nature of any seizures? I think you're probably more anxious than usual because you have been so, so keen to 'find a man and settle down'. Try to keep at least one foot on the ground!
Grand mal seizures (tonic-clonic) - drop to floor and full body rigid jerking, sometimes losing control of bladder, often frothing at mouth, can leave sufferer feeling unwell for hours. Can have very serious consequences
Petit mal (absence seizure) - sufferer seems to shut down mentally, loses awareness of what is going on around him, staring in to space. Usually short lived, no real after effects. People around them might be oblivious to it happening.
Someone who has epilepsy may have never seen anyone else have an attack and will be unaware of the way they've been treated themselves. They will only know what they've been told. It can still be frightening for them to see another person during an attack
One of my relatives had 'grand mal'. He used to go into a trance, then it was as if a fly was buzzing round the room and he'd be watching it, then he'd go in to a full seizure. He seemed to grow out of it in his 50s, or the treatment was better. It was a long time ago when there was a lot of superstitious nonsense about epilepsy.
