Abbey, you've said before that your mum is quite understanding. She'll know that a first date is nothing more than ... a first date. It might lead to a second date, it might lead to you not being keen on the guy, it might lead to the guy not being keen on you. You could always mention it casually to your mum, or just wait and see how it goes. PS You seem very keen to keep things - usually the disasters - from your mum.
Try not to let this guy's medical condition define him in your eyes.
He is not his epilepsy. He is a person, with feelings, emotions, thoughts, likes and dislikes. His epilepsy is secondary to all of that.
When you are chatting with him, do not let fear of his epilepsy be at the forefront of your thoughts. Get to know him as a person, enjoy his company and decide if you like him, based on that.
Hopefully, it will be a relationship that will work out for you in a nice way.
