I have been a Dubonnet fan since i could legally drink nearly 40 years ago. I bought a bottle recently and it definitely tastes and smell different and not for the better. So...it it me or have they changed it?

I am still watching it as I video'd it. They keep saying how hot it is but no one seems to be sweating even though they keep saying they are. In Georgette Heyer books, she talks about wilting shirt points and the starch coming out of the ladies' muslins and I don't think the hairstyles have enough pomade.

anyway, its just ended so oight oight
There's a Suspicions of Mr. Whicher on ITV on Sunday Jno .
I didn't realise there was a previous one although I have read the book.
Ivan Day was on the Hairy Bikers this evening Woofy making flummery and all sorts of exotic moulded puddings .
This is his website

the first one is actually a dramatisation of the book, shaney. I presume they showed it as they have the second one coming up. I don't know what's in the second one, a real case of the real Mr Whicher or just an invented sequel in which he goes to Ibiza and finds a body on the beach and solves the crime with the help of a beautiful Scandinavian girl tourist.
Aha ..I've tracked it down on Wiki Jno.
I must have missed it .Drat .

Yes ,the second one is fictional .
ooh, Mark Redhead as executive producer, I lived next door to him about 30 years ago...

well, that's interesting, isn't it.

good morning all....totally fascinating jno :-) Thank you for the food link. I was thinking about that ball program again and I thought it was totally a waste of putting the ball on. There were 3 or 4 good programs in that (food, costume, manners and the dances) and the producers, I guess, were determined to squash it all up together and "bring it up to date" by all the gratuitous groin and no knicker comments. and anyone who "suddenly realises" that dancing is all about sex....well all I can say is that they wasted their youth!! Bring back the production values of programs like The Victorian Kitchen! I know...rant rant mumble mumble I just hate being dumbed down to...like that woman who did the Goddess series last year.
Anyway we had a good walk (frantic tear around) this morning with lots of rushing back with huge grins which was nice.
Morning all
Bit dull here but the sun keeps trying to come out .Looks a bit black out to sea though .Hope you are all Ok this morning .

I know Shaney and if I get up for any reason, one or the other steals my comfortable spot. If I ask for the thief to move, I get "the look"
been out and bought a new lightbulb as one of the old ones has blown (first time for this one since we moved in 25 or so years ago, so thank you Osram). Not sure if the new one's bright enough to do a sudoku by but it seemed to be the brightests B&Q had, and although it's not instant it takes only a second to wake up.

Another totally fascinating morning, then.
Question Author
lol jno, you and Samuel Pepys.
Good day folks. Busy busy busy here. I am copying jno, coughing all night, one minute a streaming cold, next nothing but a cough, then the lightbulb blew in the ceiling light in the bedroom, 2nd one since 1989, which involves a long ladder and screwdrivers and luckily Mr N, there is no way I could ever change and of them, we have such high ceilings!

Then rush at 9am to the municiple water station where we fill up empty big 8 litre water bottles 1.90 secs for 1€ for drinking water, I try not to drink the tap water since we had dead bloated cats in the well iThen rush ot a cafe for breakfast, then rush to the new supermarket at the other end of Ibiza, then back home to unload the lot, Mr N rushing off just in time for golf clutching his ham roll, me lugging hija to village for her brekkie which involved another coffee and another bar! She's having lunch and then she is off to work and I can settle down for a peaceful few hours doing the washing tidying and ironing!

Hope you are all feeling perky!
I feel like I've got a dead bloated cat in my swimming pool, thanks neti
A'noon all...a totally crip day weatherwise here, it keeps piddling down but I managed to get to the shops and back inbetween the heaviest showers.
Tarquin's been and got me up and running with my new Kindle so when I can't sleep I can haunt the corridors on here....I might decide to become a troll :) He whizzed through all the destructions like wildfire...haha, wildkindlefire....oh never mind...but I'm sure I'll have it sussed by xmas. It's all magic to me.

Don't know what to have for tea/dinner....I wonder if I can download a meal?
probably download an entire library of Nigellas
