Interesting Bazile. Also recommends in the fridge (in their box).
Out
In and out.
Out
From the British Egg Information Service:
"Why aren’t eggs kept in a fridge in supermarkets?

For optimum freshness and food safety, eggs should be kept at a constant temperature below 20C. Most modern supermarkets are kept below 20C so it is not necessary for retailers to store them in a fridge. This also prevents significant temperature fluctuations (for example eggs being moved from a fridge to a hot car after purchase)."

So, as long as your storage area is below 20C, they can be left out of the fridge.
Out. I have a rather pretty egg cabinet, bought off eBay. Looks nice in my kitchen.

Thankyou all for your replies. Well it looks like most of us keep them out. But on the food inspectors the other night they said they should be kept under 5 degrees. Which would be a fridge. Think I will just carry on leaving them out.
