Well, here we are at the final. And are we surprised at who is still in?
The papers are rife with rumours and hints this morning, so who will it be?
Ruby - the youngster but still unarguably talented
Kimberly - steadily high consistancy and not afraid to flavour
Frances - possibly the most creative baker ever in the series, but seemingly trouble with her "substance"

Even though she was whiny, I really liked Ruby as well. Most of the time she got her flavours right.

I too am gutted that Kimberley fell at the final hurdle, but looking at it objectively, she just didn't do as well as she could've done in the final.
Frances was then, the worthy winner. She did some cakes that were truly inventive, even if her flavouring wasn't sometimes up to scratch.
Really interesting seeing the documentary about the previous year's contestants though - a big win for BBC2... The ratings are going to be HUGE.

And I'll as it again...Ruby is so beautiful, she doesn't looks like she's from the same species as the rest of us.
By the way - did you know that Kimberley learned how to cook as a child, because she had to look after her mum and sister when her mother developed multiple sclerosis?
My admiration for her knows no bounds...

I agree with you 100%...after the wedding cake challenge! I couldn't separate the three finalists - they'd all done one thing that put them ahead of the others...but at the end of the day, I think the right person won.
Oh, and my partner works in television and here's a little bit if gossip that people might not know - apart from 'The Voice', The Great British Bake Off is the show that more camera crew and production staff want to work on, in the BBC than any other.
I have a feeling I know why...
