I've got to say, I am just loving what's going on at Manure! Moyes is doing a great job and their aging, average squad is being found out. (£27.5m for Feillaini, anyone?) Over the years, I've grown to detest everything about that lot, from Old Red Nose, through Whiteside, McClair, Robson, Keane, the Nevilles, Scholes, Horseface, Ferdinand, Rooney and all the dodgy decisions that went their way. Although they are still getting 'celebrity' bias with referees ie Rooney's kick last week, the fear factor has disappeared and teams are going there and having a go. I'd just love it if they finish outside the top four and go into the Thursday Night Challenge, or even better, finish 6th or 7th with no Europe at all. Well, fingers crossed and here's hoping!

I thought I saw the word "laugh" in the title of this thread. There's not much laughing goping on here at the moment. Too much Christmas spirit?

lol say what you mean !!
Well you cant begrudge their previous success, and they did have some great players and great teams (and if you DO begrudge their success then you are probably a Liverpool or Man C fan !!).

However Moyes was just NOT the right man to take over from Fergie.

While he made a decent job at Everton with a limited budget he never actually won a SINGLE trophy in his 11 years there. At least Fergie had won leagues and European competitions with Aberdeen so he knew how to win things.

And considering Wigan and Swansea won the two cups last year, it is nothing short of a disgrace that Moyes could not manage it once with Everton in 11 years.

And with Suarez costing 22 million, Hazard at 32 million and Oscar at 19 million then Feillaini does seem hugely overpriced. Maybe Moyes wanted to "help out" his old club by paying over the odds for him.

A big club needs a big name manager, and Moyes was not a big name (and hence wont attract big name players to the club).

Players will go where they feel they have a chance of winning something, and with Mourinho at Chelsea, big name players will go there as he has always won things at clubs.

Moyes will go at the end of the season.
I'm loving it too of course!

Agree with VHG, I never thought Moyes would be up to it, and it's showing.

I don't begrudge any teams success, as long as it's a level playing field. And it clearly hasn't been with them over the years. Refs were definitely scared to make a big decision against them, and if they did, Ferguson would slaughter them and the FA were too lightweight with Ferguson and just let him get away with it time after time. Oh and by the way, I don't support Man City or Liverpool, just don't like Manure!
which team do you support dave or is it some big secret, as for united not winning the league this season that must be good for football in general as there does not seem to be that many different names that has won it

> Manchester United
Blackburn Rovers
Arsenal
Chelsea
Manchester City

Dr Filth, I'm a Gooner but it's not about bitterness or jealousy. We've had our fair share of ups and downs over the last 20 years or so, and are flying at the moment and I'm loving it. It's all about winning with grace and style, and as mentioned, a level playing field for all teams.

i bet it's not -)
you know your team is bad when your local paper has no report -)

I am sorry, but when it comes to having a go at Scholes, then the hatred for a team becomes irrational.

Apart from saying he could not tackle, you cant say much negative about Scholes.

He would have graced the midfield of most teams in Europe, and he would have probably got in the Barcelona team at its height.

Xavi says Scholes was the best midfielder of the last 20 years

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1355726/Xavi-interview-Paul-Scholes-best-midfielder-20-years.html

And you say winning with "grace and style" but I can think of quite a few nasty moments with Arsenal players such as Keown, Viera, Adams and others, many against Man U, where Arsenal gave as good as they got.

I am also old enough to remember Peter Storey at Arsenal, and he came to Fulham (who I supported at the time) for his last season and he was one of the biggest thugs I have ever seen on a football pitch.

Your hatred of Man U could not be because they have won quite a lot in the last few years, whereas Arsenal have not won anything for 6 or 7 years could it?

p.s. Don't get me wrong I have a huge admiration for Arsenal, and Man U, so don't let "fan loyalty" blind you to the success of another club.

And I don't think Fergie could have "frightened" refs in Europe as they have seen plenty of tough managers, and you don't win Champions League finals by just scaring the ref.
when scholes leaves united we could do with him as we have let 85 in so far this season

"Apart from saying he could not tackle, you cant say much negative about Scholes."

A prime example of what I'm talking about - should have been sent off at least 7 or 8 times, but the refs bottled it because it was 'good old Scholesy'!

> should have been sent off at least 7 or 8 times, <

you can say that about loads of players, i was at a match at maine road at the wall on the kippax and peter barnes had been fouled a couple of times and the ref booked the norwich player, peter came down the wing again and fell over his own foot the norwich player was a couple of feet away but the ref came over and sent the norwich player off

refs do not always get it right this applies to all teams and all players

"refs do not always get it right this applies to all teams and all players"

Unfortunately, it happens to one team and their players more than others.
But Moyes has achieved a lifetime's ambition at last - to see Everton win at Old Trafford !
seems he is still putting them in the back of the net

Moyes will come good - given time and no Ferguson sat looking over his shoulder (i'm a York City fan so have no bias - we have Nigel Worthington!!)

"Moyes will come good - given time"

I'd be interested to know how much time Manure fans are willing to give him? Some were on the radio last night calling for him to go now!
What's that saying about those who laugh last?
Dave, don't count your chickens..............
Not a Man U supporter but laughing at their problems is hardly sporting.
Distasteful.
