Years since I made any but made some yesterday...blooming lovely! I’d forgotten how easy they are to make too.
Even better I have the ingredients to make another couple of batches, happy days :)

Any chance of the recipe ?
Question Author
8oz butter
8oz Demerara sugar
3oz golden syrup
10oz porridge oats.
Melt butter, sugar and syrup in a pan. Stir in the oats and mix well. Press into a 9” x 12” tin.
Bake for 35 minutes at 160c or 140c fan or gas 3.
Remove from oven and leave to cool for ten minutes. Mark into squares then leave to cool completely in tin.
Don’t over cook or it’ll go too hard when cooled, needs to be a bit chewy.
Can you add dried fruits?

Don’t see why not Tilly, think it would be very nice with some in.
sounds delicous.
Try adding chopped nuts too.
I like mine crunchy so always cooks them longer
