I love butter beans.
mushroom
Question Author
i sometimes put bell pepper in there red orange and green ones but i dont like mushrooms
Mushroom in soup! That doesn't appeal to me. But I love adding beans of some sort.
I always add beans (Borlotti, Cannellini, or perhaps chickpeas or white haricots - all tinned). The beans are there to add some protinaceous element to a vegetarian dish. Sweet potatoes I'm not fond of, but I do like some ordinary spuds. It's not quite mediterranean summer soup, but it's a good filling meal.

if i blended it all then it would be a soup but i leave it chunky and the stock stays thin unless i stir the potato a lot then it thickens it up
Celeriac
Worcestershire Sauce
Guinness....when I cooked.

i saw celeriac in the shop and it looked scary not sure what it is or how it taste or anything like that
Pasta (as in minestrone)
Passata
Carrots, onions, meat, celery, leeks, swede, or turnips, dumplings, stock plus in beef stew a tin of oxtail soup and in chicken a can of chicken soup, lamb some pea and mint usually packet cup soup as I usually keep some in the store cupboard towards the end chuck in peas, any left over beans, or lentils. Basically if it's sitting in the fridge and needs using up ....
A good splash of dark soy sauce.
roadman. Scrub your celeriac, top and tail it, pull or shop off any wispy roots or bits you don't like the look of, slice it into 'steaks' and simmer a bit before draining and frying or roasting. Serve with an Italian type sauce (tinned chopped toms, garlic etc) Celeriac is a tyope of celery root, and has a celery-ish flavour.
Two bay leaves

A bay leaf adds a slightly sweet, nutmeggy nice flavour.
Pumpkin, butternut squash, courgette
Any canned beans except baked
Cauliflower
Celeriac is an acquired taste a bit like aniseed. Try it in a soup before putting it in your stew

As an aside if you are lazy and don't feel like making a soup this cauliflower masala soup from Sainsbury's is delicious
Question Author
i make my own because it becomes very cheap per serving and it lasts me a few days
