does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

My goodness it is freezing here. Snow in Mallorca and 120kph winds forecast for ibiza! Brrr. We went to Ibiza town for a walk round and the wind was biting, of course we werent dressed for mid winter. Ate in Burger king and came home. Have fire on and all cosy!

bright and chilly here. We are having another zonked day due to last nights fireworks. Hopefully most of them over now.
Morning all. Chilly here. Nothing to report. Still ache all over especially teeth but as they are all I have I put up with it!
Yay The Crown starts this Sunday but I wont get it until Monday ot Tuesday, cant wait!
We havent had the 120kph winds that were predicted!
Morning all
Cold here too but bright and sunny atm.
Neti, I was going to remind you about The Crown but I see you're up to speed.
Nothing exciting to report here either. Still surrounded by the roadworks which are proceeding very slowly. I can see six weeks turning into six months at this rate.
Hope you're all ok.
Just done all my xmas cards and a big box of pressies for uk, now have to wait for pension before posting them!
Morning all
Nice bright day so far.Hope it keeps that way as I'm going to the cinema later to see The Good Liar.
That's very efficient Neti .Best to get them off early though in case of the postal strike.I don't know if it's been called off yet.The last I heard in the news was that Royal Mail were going to court for an injunction to stop them striking.
Hope you're all Ok .

good morning all, not doing much here as we had fireworks yet again last night.
Apparently a judge has forbidden the postal strike as it may affect the general election!! I have to keep reminding my sisters that parcel.for Spain must go soon as Spain doesnt employ extra workers and we usually get parcels after January 8th due.to the many fiesta days
Any idea where an old woman ( my sister) can just go to a shop and buy a normal sky remote?
I just made spag bol with soya substitute mince. It was very acceptable!

Argos and Currys seem to have them. We have got windy rain here and its making Shughy fidgetty. Normally he wouldn't be too bothered but all the fireworks have wound him up
Thanks woofy I shall pass that on to her. It's for Mr N for xmas.
Wind affects everyone. When I was a nursery teacher the kids were so nervous when it was windy.
Question Author
its better here since I got the old tV aerial taken down but very squally and unpleasant. He's finally settled thankfully.
Sorry to here you've got the squally weather Woofy .Windy weather always makes me feel unsettled and I daresay it can affect animals as well as humans. Luckily it's been a bright crisp autumn day here but it's all change tomorrow when we get the rain and wind. Mustn't grumble too much though at least we're not knee deep in flood water like the poor folks in Yorks and the midlands.
The Good Liar was very good. Not what I expected plot wise. He was a good liar but she was an even better one and revenge is a dish best served cold as they say. I really enjoyed it.Helen Mirren is a good actress.
Mr S's old friend and former work colleague called round to see us this evening .Hadn't seen him for a while so it was nice to have a catch up and a good laugh putting the world to rights.
I've had a good today, some fresh air, entertainment and good company. Night all.
Night all.
well, we have been down to the palace to see George IV and heard a 21-gun salute for Charles III's birthday (it mightn't have been 21, he must be older than that now). Now we are waiting for a nice Indian meal to be delivered. As our damp has allegedly been sorted out, I have put a dehumidifier to work in the affected corner of the living room and it has been sucking the walls dry for three days now. That's an awful lot of water.
Question Author
hope the damp is finally gone and that OH is feeling more chipper. We had NO fireworks last night, had a lovely lazy day. Dogs have been out hunting in the dark which they really enjoy and haven't done for ages.
after the cannonade, some troops came out on horseback to tow the guns away - but we noticed that a couple of the horses were riderless and galloping all over Green Park. We wondered if they'd been spooked by the guns and thrown the riders. I would have thought army horses were trained to ignore gunfire, but I don't suppose they send horses into the Valley of Death in wartime these days.
Question Author
Not all the horse who tow guns are ridden. I think each rider has an riderless horse harnessed beside him/her
yes, that's true, I've just checked my photos. The harnessing of the riderless ones can't have been too firm, though.
