Funny how its the first thing you do when the weathers miserable.
Ive got split pea ,veg and chopped up franfurter soup on and it smell delish:)
Tattie and leek seems to be the fave so far....
Anyone else make soup for comfort/warming food and what do you make?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.my fave winter soup recipe... 1 large leek, 3 medium size carriots, a large peice of pumpkin/buttersquash, 4 medium size spuds(any variety), plus a generous handful of lentils and brown rice. saute the lot except the greens of the leeks in a large pot, add 3 pints water, or stock, 2 tsps marmite(optional), boil, simmer, when carrots are soft, add large handful of fresh or frozen spinach, turn off heat/gas, put lid on. and leave for 1/2 hr, might need to add more water, as i can be quite thick. enjoy. better of course the next day.add salt and black pepper.
Dris 1 Onion Chopped, Mushrooms chopped, Chilli Powder (to taste), 1 x 400grm Can Red Kidney Beans (drained and rinsed), 1 x 400grm Baked Beans, 1 x 400grm Can Chopped tomatoes, 1 Red Pepper, A Handful or two of Pasta, One stock cube
Gently fry the onion and mushrooms until softened. Place all the ingredients, except the pasta, into a deep saucepan. Make up liquid using stock cube and approx 3 pints warm water. Simmer for 20 minutes then add the pasta and simmer for a further 10 minutes. If needs be top up with water
