Picnic today, BBQ this evening...............

Picnic by the river in Stratford - Cold chicken, buttered rolls,
juicy vine tomatoes, mixed salad leaves,
Ham and mushroom/cheese and onion quiche,
farmhouse cheddar and red onion chutney bites,
pasta salad, coleslaw, giant garlic prawns.
Toffee cake, strawberries and ice cream. All in cold box


BBQ tonight: Steaks,
homemade sausages (pork, apple and leek, pork with sweet chili,
beef with mushrooms and guinness,
lamb with apricots and mint,
pork ribs chinese style,
chicken - BBQ, shili and lime, garlic butter flavours,
tuna steaks, devilled crab claws, lobster tails

Jacket wedges, pasta salad, jacket potatoes, homemade coleslaw, appleand walnut slaw, mixed salad
onions, various breads, rolls and wraps and loads of sauces, chutney's and relishes.

Gallons of wine, beer, lager and cider (both apple and pear) and guinness!

I dare you to come up with some menus that are not fantasy menus,but can actually be done by a 2-adult,2-kids family....on a realistic budget.

iT'S ALL RELATIVE!! I haven't paid for an electrician, a plumber or a gardener for years. if my car needs doing, I only pay for parts. For the price of a steak and a few bottles of wine several times a year, and everybody's happy, what's the problem?

Pastafreak - I used to do those types of menu's for people on the dole and low incomes when I used to teach people how to cook. I got sick of hearing how people would turn their noses up at liver, or cheaper cuts of meat like belly draft of pork or breast of lamb, but would waste money on ready meals and frozen stuff that would costt less than half the price to make.

Mercia, have you ever made egg-less cake? I can find many recipes online, and I have my own version, but do you have a recipe or ideas for one?
