I'm reading a history mystery and in the book the protagonist is invited to look around the house of a lawyer .It's stacked to the gunnels with various artefacts statues ,paintings etc .It reminded me of a museum somewhere in London that was in a private house but I can't remember the name of it .It's bugging me :)
Any ideas as to what it's called ?

Morning all...ooh, it's cold.
Oh poo, I missed Michael P...I could have done with some hot spring treatment myself last night, my legs and feet were screaming.

Didn't any of you have trouble with this site yesterday? I either couldn't get in or the pages wouldn't move? I know it wasn't my puta cos I went round John Lewis in a flash...I hate that shop, lots of expensive clothes that I love. :)

I'm glad it went well for you all neti. x

I'm like woofy, the world usually looks like a Monet to me, I only wear my specs when I really need to. It's nothing to do with vanity, even though I think I look weird in them, I just find them so irritating to wear.

The cruise will be nice for you Lottie...I daren't even think about next week, never mind next year.
the world does not look like a Monet this morning, more like a.. like a ... more like a painter who paints grey misty things.
good morning again....Monet painting.....yes that's lovely and describes it. Actually its quite misty and Monetish here today, very seasons of mists and mellow fruitfulness. Grey and cool but pleasant and cosy.
Whistler. It's like a Whistler, that's what it's like

Hi All. I'm back quicker than I expected yesterday. I'm so happy. I can read the writing on the telly from a distance now also I can't wait to go to footie to see the players without fuzzy faces :)I was so quick at the hospital. There at 8 and walking out at 10.30. No pain no nothing! Amazing. A bit of a change from my B****y wrist.
I'm sorry I haven't had chance to read all your posts up to date but I'm doing it a bit at a time. I have discovered so many nooks and crannies that need cleaning. I'm ashamed! and I have to do them when I find them straight away.
I hope you're all ok and sorting aches and pains out as you all do so abley. Pleased all went well for you Neti.
Great for you Lottie A cruise up the Rhine - something to look forward to - that's what we all need - it does you good doesn't it.
Anyway off now to sort out some lunch and put drops in. Two sorts. Each 4 times a day. One lot for 2 weeks and the other for 4 weeks. But I manage OK
See yer later 'gater(s)
oh, glad you're seeing tghe world more clearly now, Jude. Time for an HDTV?

Woofgang, the painting is of my fishpond <cough> but it's in the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

Goodness, that's a long brush he used. I suppose you'd need it not to splash paint on that smart coat

Well done Jude, I'm so pleased it went well for you...don't worry about the cleaning! Can't see to clean here, it's gone the way of jno's world, soooo gloomy. The atmosphere's done my sinus head no good at all, it's banging.
Loving this weather. Went for a lovely brekkie and then a walk on the misty and foggy pier, chatted to 5 middle-aged spanish women, and then we walked miles along the seafront, then popped into the town where we danced with some "Children in Need" volunteers, we did the macarena, now home and eating hot crumpets with cheese and a cuppa, that's me for the day.
Sorry haven't got the time to catch up yet, what has jude done, has she had her eyes done or new glasses??
Cataract op neti (one eye)

What are doing, coming here and talking to Spanish women? Haven't you had enough of em? :)

Hello folks
You're all a sight for sore eyes :)
Well done Jude and I'm pleased it all went Ok and that you can see your cobwebs in full technicolour now :)
It's been a grey dull dreary day here .Monet it ain't .
Jude be careful cleaning....my mum was told to go gently with head movements and not to bend for a couple of days when hers were done. I've been cleaning too...decided I needed to know that any dirt around was new dirt so have been chasing the old stuff. The dogs do their part by brining in the new dirt.
Robi sorry to ehar about the head, its sinussy weather all right. Neti....behave ;-)
I wonder if Grieves liked Whistler....that looks like a bit of a sarky portrait to me.
time to hit the hay. I had a big cup of milky decaff and chocolate chip cookies for dinner.....lovely

I won't be too be far behind you Woofy .Up bright and early for the market in the morning .My bro goes out before the streets are aired .
I watched a lovely film this evening on a DVD .One of my "dull day " Amazon purchases .
It was entitled The Help .I read the book some time ago so thought I'd give the film a whirl .It was brilliant .Definitely one to watch again .
Oight Oight .
woofy, I think there were a lot of caricatures done like that in the late 19th-early 20th centuries. Not necessarily being rude, just a bit of satirical exaggeration.

Had a nice dinner at a hotel in Jermyn St tonight (bogof offer, of course), except for the man with the foghorn voice at the next table. Opinions on everything. It's HILARIOUS THAT PRESCOTT IS CALLED TWO JAGS and what's more did you know THERE WAS A FAMOUS COMEDIAN CALLED MAX WALL, THE CHEEKY CHAPPIE. My ears are still ringing. To be charitable, maybe he was deaf himself and unaware that his voice was jamming radar in the North Sea.
PS I well know the Cheeky Chappy was Max Miller, not Max Wall, and don't think I wasn't tempted to go and bellow it in his ear. But I am only aggressive when I am anonymous, so I didn't.
I noe jno, just something about that one struck me as a bit personal.....
Shughy is having nightmares poor love. He was asleep upstairs, well we all were then he started dreaming and woke up in a right old tizzy, could NOT stay upstairs so we have all decamped. he has fallen asleep and woken himself up panicky about three times now and hopefully has finally settled. He is a sensitive soul although you wouldn't think it. Last night Rab was convinced there was a prowler in the garden. he was really going to town growling and desperate to get out there so I got a walking stick and out we went. I think its the repeated fireworks, they mostly are a bit careful about going out into the garden after dark if I am not there which was what made me think Rab was on to something last night as he was doing his real guard dog act. It was probably a fox although there are quite a few badgers around at the moment, more than I have seen in years.
Anyone who reads this will think that the house is run solely for the convenience of the dogs....don't all shout at once will you.
I have started getting Graze boxes delivered. There was an offer to get the first and the fifth free (code YUM2) they are very good. You get four little snack packs of heathyish stuff, crackers and dip, dried fruit, nuts, seeds, olives, breads, loads of different things, you can choose to reject something entirely or have it more or less often but you don't know exactly what you'll get till it arrives. It makes a nice little treat twice a week.
Hello to you all ,long time no see !Been having a few problems which while not entirely resolved are being dealt with (in my mind at least) .
I do hope you are all keeping well ,I know it's been a stressful year weatherwise but you keep battling on .Are you prepared for your forthcoming Winter ? sounds a bit cold to me .
Have not read this thread as yet but hope to do so later today ,we're going to a BBQ Lunch for a friends Birthday -it's about an hour and half drive from here .
Bye for now -lots of love and best wishes to you all .
