Where have all the old fashioned hardware stores gone?...the nice man in a brown overall & a pencil behind his ear would know what I meant by 'twisty, bolty thingy' (even if it hadn't been invented).

Talking of New Tricks, do you remember last week's (I think it was) with Clive Francis playing Dudley who was the villain - well we went to school together. I don't mean we skipped along hand-in-hand or he carried my books, but we attended the same class. Have just used my Lakeland electric egg boiler for two perfectly cooked eggs - medium - oh they were delicious, so glad I bought it!

I'm very disappointed you didn't have to cluck and mime, Neti. I'm going to visualise it anyway, as if it really had happened. I was wondering about the egg boiler when you smuggled it in at the airport, what does it do that an ordinary egg timer doesn't do? Does it "feel" how boiled the eggs are??

Yes swedie - you pop the eggs into the machine with a measured amount of water and switch it on, and hey presto, the alarm goes off and the eggs are perfectly cooked. Love it. They don't crack and leak everywhere. I didn't smuggle it, I annouced proudly and clearly to the officers at hand baggage and they all peered at the x-ray and giggled.

Been busy today lookiing for a carpet. First decided on green but now have changed my mind to chocolate brown. The 'blind' man came yesterday and gave me a price so that will be fitted soon. My suite has gone so now I'm sitting on gardern seats piled up with cushions. And no Kit, on your comment about me and interior design, I'm not very good at all, that's why all my walls are white paper designs.

I'm just about getting used to this new layout now, bet they go and change it again soon.

Can you do half a dozen hard boiled please Neti .Then I can throw them at the screen
.I can just about see the lines and I am on Firefox .Some posts have no lines and what lines there are ,are so faint as to be negligible .If I press my nose right up against the screen I can just about make them out .If I zoom in I can see them but quite frankyl I'm piddled off with all this zooming in and out to be able to use AB .You shouldn't have to do that .I can read other sites on the web perfectly alright and they fit my screen ! It's a whole load of eyestrain and I'm shortsighted enough .
At least the profile thing and the page turning has been sorted so I suppose that's something .

Well I make it 18 posts so when it gets 2 more then that's when I will put 5 html and should get the next page on. May be a long winded way but it's the only way I know at the mo unless one of you clever clogs with computers comes up with another way.
