Locks 'n bolts
Can someone tell me the official name of this type of bolt please, I'm sure it must have one.
here
Where have all the old fashioned hardware stores gone?...the nice man in a brown overall & a pencil behind his ear would know what I meant by 'twisty, bolty thingy' (even if it hadn't been invented).

I saw one of the Eds saying yesterday we would have avatars in a couple of weeks. They'll be where the jellymen are now, no doubt.
Yes Alzheimers, it's scary isn't it. Some scientist was saying on the telly that you needn't worry about dementia if when you go to the shop you come home without your loaf of bread, but when you go to the shop, come home with your loaf of bread, open the pantry and you find there's already a loaf of bread in there... that's when you should worry. I can see his point but I've had dementia for fifteen years if that's true...
Can't you see the page numbers Neti? Bottom right? / You inspired me to actually eat an egg today. Don't like'm but I know they're good for me so I more or less hold my nose while I chew and after I'm done I behave like Jim Carrey/Ace Ventura when he realises the person he's been kissing is a man

(I posted this and waited five minutes but as it still hasn't appeared I'm posting it again - no doubt there will now be double posts...)

Thanks Robi for the email . I enjoy going to the Hardware shop ,all sorts of bits and pieces that you never knew existed.I've seen one of those Bolts but can;t remember where or when ! I'm glad you've got it all sorted out on here before I came on ,not up to coping with much these days . Mr.D. and I both been ill with (him) pneumonia and me with chest and throat infections etc and at our age taking a long time to recover .
I was going to say farewell after the last link ( I hate being bullied) but I decided not to let the Devil win ,I really enjoy your lovely banter on here and it helps when I feel lonely so down to brass tacks and that lovely smell of Paraffin I'm here for a while longer .
Love Dolly xx

hello all. sorry, feeling a bit quiet today. DH went down to his Mum in hospital this morning (they phoned here at 7 am) and she passed at noon. She had been suffering for a while but stayed at home and was generally in good spirits. Yesterday she got another infection and this time she didn't get over it...seems to be one damn thing after another ATM. I am grateful that she had a peaceful end with her DH and DS there and didn't linger but I will miss her. You will appreciate that we have a busyish time on the horizon so i may not get on here often but i will check in when i can.
Evening biddies, I've been to an international fair downtown and went there without turning the computer on. So strange Woofy, just around noon today I was thinking about how you had said a while back you were still struggling with the loss of your mother and I was thinking I wonder if you would feel stressed if I reminded you about posting some photos of the dresses she made for... who was it, was it the Queen Mum...? ...or if you would appreciate the interest. Well... I am interested to see, anyway, so if and when it would feel good for you to show us... but not right now, that's understood. I'm so sorry for your loss and your husband's. Take your time, we ain't going nowhere.
Will tell you all about the fair but I'm too exhausted right now... ZZZZZ...

evening...you haven't been deserted Neti...I'm like Kit, I've had a busy day & I'm so exhausted I can hardly think...
Still no lines twix the posts on here (on my puta) so it's all a squashed jumble...
I'm so sorry to read your news woofy, what a time it's been for you both. Take care & stop by when you can. It's a horrible thing, getting older & losing your family. It's hard to believe it's almost a year since we lost our brother.
Yes Jude, Vinny did go somewhere posh so I hope that our dusty little place isn't too downmarket for him now...and we need a man to reach the tin baths & buckets down for us.
Good to see you made it Dolly, I was beginning to think you weren't getting my mails. Sorry to hear you haven't been well, hope you're both feeling better now. You can't beat a good rummage around a good old hardware store, they always had exactly what you wanted and you could buy as many or as few as needed. Now you have to buy a bloomin' huge box or blister pack of everything.
I never knew that horses were that way inclined jno...Trenchant & ribald? Well they're words you don't hear in my neck of the woods every day.
