Bedding Plants

Is it too soon to put in bedding plants? I live in Dorset

It is a bit too early though you could risk it and hope that we don't get any frosts. A couple more weeks would be better. Unless you're doing baskets and tubs and then you could possibly put them in gargae or shed if low temps are due!
I am further north (Derbys) and will wait a few weeks to "do the borders"

I live in hampshire....wouldn't bed out before May but have done sme of my buying and am hardening them off.

If you buy your bedding plants from a reputable nursery, it may be worth your while to ask if the plants have been hardened off.

I never put mine out until May. I was scraping ice off my car on Saturday morning, so definitely too early.

I also live in Dorset and we have had 1 or 2 frosts recently. I'd also wait until May (or at least until the blackthorn has stopped flowering!)

I was once told by one old boy long time ago, don't plant any bedding plants until Whitsun as there is still a chance of frost.

Well, May tomorrow, but still a bit early for me on the cold east coast of Scotland. Thought Dorset would be a few degrees warmer?
