My Buddleia bush, which has been in full bloom, for a couple of weeks
and would normally be a hive of activity, with bees and butterflies. This year, I have not seen a single bee or butterfly on it.
Any others noticed this.

I've got a couple of big Echinops and they are very late flowering this year and normally they are covered in bees and butterflies,

Only remarked on this a couple of days ago. Not seen a single butterfly and only a couple of bees. No wasps either.
Very few butterflies here but I have a clover patch and there seems to be a bee on every flower. Was going to cut the grass but will wait till the clover dies back.

Very strange indeed. it all seems out of kilter.
I've seen several species of butterflies, but in much smaller numbers
The purple ones are starting to flower (Veitch's Blue), the white ones are nowhere near flowering and even the lavender was late flowering.
We have loads of butterflies, bees and wasps on the buddleia, lavender and other flowers. Lovely to see. The lime trees are just full of bees - cannot hear yourself think from the constant buzz if you stand underneath them.

Seems strange to me how it's low in places but higher in others, in spite of efforts to plant bee friendly plants

Just yesterday the bees, etc, appeared to be making a slow return to the buddleia
they are all in my garden !
quite a few here too.....
along with flying rats.....
Ours is yet to flower here in the frozen north.
Last year. there were a lot of Red Admirals on the Buddleia but not until August
I think different seasonal weather in different parts of the country could account for it.
