Potatoes

A friend (who has been a veg grower for years) has had a crop of potatoes that are semi-transparent & too hard to eat after cooking whether boiled or slow roasted.
Any ideas as to what the reason might be? he doesn't remember the variety name, they weren't his usual choice. Thanks.

Neti your crumpet saga made me laugh. I am a potato pancake addict...Paul Rankin's are the best. Sat here in immaculate splendour awaiting visit from specialist nurse...I was cleaning at 7am this morning cos if I had done it yesterday it would have looked as bad again today....she's just been....all ok

Thanks for the tip about desk top icons Robi. I must have just started doing something different lately cos it's never happened before. I thought Wallis was where you said Evans is.
I understand Lottie about the postage being ok for you. I would do the same but it costs me nowt on the bus. I didn't like to use my bus pass when I first had it (60) cos the only people I saw on the bus were grey haired old people. Now I'm one of them and not bothered :o)!! (I was one then too but didn't like it) :o)
The bit of fence I did doesn't look three bad this morning, I should have kept going shouldn't I? Never mind Mr Oddjob will do it now.

Message for swedie, I would love to tell you about the balmy, warm ,sunny day with a slight breeze that we have here today, but you all know about that stick thingy that actually attacks me when I mention our lovely weather, so my lips are sealed and I won't tell you about it, as I fear for my very life!! :-)

A'noon all, that's good news for you today woofy...and you've a clean house to boot. If I'd known you were in domestic mode I'd have sent over my ironing, I finally got it done. In fact it wasn't just ironing it was ironing+ which means I also put it away/hung things up instead of dumping it on the bed & leaving it.

Could I ask that you keep all fluid away from me please..I'm strangely drawn to water at the moment, or rather water is drawn to me. Did my famous trick last night on the way to bed & flung a big glassful all over myself, soaked my slippers & the carpet, grrr. And this morning I dropped my clean socks in the wet bath, they literally flew out of my hand.

Jude Evans & Wallis were next door neighbours weren't they? Their no is 206049, give them a ring.

Good news Woofy. Glad all is well.

Jude, I could get a free bus pass, but it hardly seems worth it. I would have to catch the one bus to Kings Lynn a week and that means walking 1/2 mile to the bus stop and having to come back almost as soon as I got there.

There are buses reasonably frequently from Fakenham to Kings Lynn and Norwich, but I would have to drive to Fakenham first.

Don't know where the email went Robi. I sent it as a reply so it should have gone back to where it came from.

Let me know if it doesn't arrive.

Am off to have hair trimmed as the rep (hairdresser) has just texted me and he's leaving in a couple of weeks so have to get it done while I can. Mr N not home and I can just about scrape enough money together for it! as did a bit of shopping this am! Wish I hadn't now!

Am back home again shorn and almost tidy! I hate tidy hair so it always has to be a bit ruffled. It´s a bit short this time cos he's going away on Monday to work in Cyprus, so hair will have to last!! Have made my appointment for May already!

I hate tidy hair too Neti. I always ask my lovely hairdresser to give me a 'scruffy' look, but she doesn't quite get it right, so I sit there in the hairdressers doing the scruffing up myself, which makes her laugh!

I know what you mean about tidy hair, she cut mine a bit blunt & I'd like it choppier.

I've been doing some snipping, it was either that or do a 'woofy' and clean. It's not been as cold as the past couple of days, if the sun had been out it would have been lovely.

Still no mail Lottie but I'm receiving others. :o(

Lottie my hair is like that but shorter, my hair is so straight, even a perm lasts about a day before it slides off! Would have loed curls, but not now.

Mr N made the dinner (after a hard day's work) it was his tuna and spinach lasagne, and delicious, just tucking into keylime pie and then orf to watch Strictly and Xfactor (I know, I know don't keep on!!!)

oh I missed the hairstyle link Lottie...that's it!! exactly how I want mine too but she gives me the blunt version of that. I'm going to save it & show her but it probably means using a razor & I'm not sure if it's in her repertoire
