Does anyone have one of THESE or something similar? I need something light to tidy up plants & the smaller shrubs - I get a man in for the big stuff! :o) I wondered if it will only cut very soft new growth or if it would also be handy to cut down perennials that might be a bit woody?

haha, well no, it's the Frida Lyngstad of course but I got the right name. I must have a loose wire ...

hang on....I'm picking up a Norfolk signal....

oh dear - seems to be a time difference...ne'er mind I think my battery's about to run out so I'd better go & plug myself in for a few hours...
Night, sleep tight
x
morning all, just a brief pop in to see you before we go out for the day.....who knows where. Don't read this bit Vinny.....oh well if you must....on your own head be it.....Did any of the female bidddies (well you know what I mean) get aching joints as a menopause symptom? Mine are grinding something fierce today and I thought I'd come to the fount of all knowledge for advice.

Where I used to work, after many years of having an all female team of varying ages, we got a chap join us....well after a few hours of trying to moderate the conversation we gave up....as you do....he had an eye opening day or two I think.....nice boy, he still works there
Morning dudes...

morning windies...it's blowin' ya brains out here...

glad you're ok Vin - that was some send off! Make sure you go & win another cup next skittles season.

well woofy I think you're in the right place here
....don't worry about Vinny, he's seen lots of women go all red & sweaty.....usually when he hands them his buffering bill. :o)
The short answer to your Q is yes, absolutely, although it all happened rather quickly & early for me, and then the 'algia' took over so I can't remember what it was like bp (before pain)....hey-ho. My sister's at that 'funny age' now & she's starting to tell me what creaks 'n aches feel like (?!).
If you haven't already seen it this site is funny as well as factual...I've had all of those symptoms......today!

now I was going to ask a girlie question, what was it? (another symptom).....oh yes, what, apart from polyfilla, do y'all put on your faces?..... <not much by the looks of it>....I've done Nivvy and No 7 but I swear I get immune to them after a while....p'raps I'd be better off with a good layer of teak oil....

I just wear Nivea Soft and I hate make-up and such gungeing my face. Never have worn powder and only for special occasions do I wear foundation (I think that's what it's called) you know, the coloured stuff to rub into face.

Can't answer your q woofy as I've forgotten, but jolly well have aching and creaking joints most of the time now.

By heck it's hot hot hot here now, staying in today, can't be bothered to go out for lunch so am making a ************* for Mr N and myself. Pool is lovely and so welcoming, but would swap with you any day Robi!!
that innocent word was a pis salirre
that' wrong its a pis saladirre!
Hugh fire just up the road, so Mr N has gone to see if he can help, as the locals have to beat out fires if they are forest, and we don't yet. There's ash flying everywhere, have had to bring in washing and now the fire planes are carrying water, they can dip into any nearby pool, but ours isn't big enough!
Now there's thick smoke and can hardly see anything. Just like snow and so many planes flying. Quite scary.

Neti turn your ventilation off!

Whoa, sounds like an Irish wake, that, Vinny... Glad you found your way back home. / Is there a difference between skittles and bowling or is it just an Anglo- / American language difference again?

Good grief you're doing menopause now Woofy, didn't you say you were retired? I think mine's over and done with and I'm not fifty yet! Up here we just roll ourselves in the snow (for the hot flashes, Vinny) and get it over with, ha ha...

...and I don't normally use anything on the face either, Robinia... it's not that I don't need to, it's just that it blocks my pores and makes me feel like I've a plastic bag over my head. So instead I have to be very particular about which soap I use (yes I use soap in the face, don't faint) and luckily my friend who I'm visiting later on makes a kind that works for me. Annoyingly, she only makes'em once a year or so... but I'll see if I can't her started when I'm there in person, I need new ones. Anyway my sister uses creams and things so I'll ask her. I remember there was one from Clarins she used to love, but that was a while ago. She has also mentioned Este Lauder's Idealist Skin Refinisher a lot but again that was a while ago. While I'm waiting for my friend to get going on the soap (which I don't need any cream after having used) I sometimes go to the kitchenette cupboard for one of my many cold-pressed food oils... and the HTH line works for me too, but I don't see an English flag there... save the URL though, you never know. It's been around for almost forty years and they sell at the grocery store... doesn't give you that luxurious feeling...! ...but it's good.
Phew, under control now, I went to join Mr N but we weren't needed. It was right next to an old people's home, and I was worried I'd get shunted away with them! Patio and swimming are covered with smuts but until it's finally over I'm leaving it. Just had a swim, it was OK. Bit worrying cos it was just down the road from us. This will be the first fire of many we get every year. Some caused by thoughtless people throwing ciggie butts out of car windows.

Off to sniff the smelling salts before I have a fit of the vapours!!

I wash my face with Palmolive Shower Gel once a day, and in the mornings only use water. And I am beautiful same as Kit so it works!!
I am deliberately leaving out words in my postings to help you all with your brain power! :-)
That's a relief Neti, you had me worried for a while there. Oh well if you had succumbed to the flames we would always have remembered you as the one who was making something for her husband that had to be asterisked, he he he...

Forgot to say, while I'm waiting for my friend's soap I use Nivea Shower Oil - in the face, too, so I am, needless to say, "soft, supple and absolutely irresistible."
(Worried about the fire, not about omitted words!)
Hello Windies ..blowing a gale here too and very warm .
It's too uncomfortable to sit outside it blows my hair about :)
Glad it all went Ok Vinny ..it gets better when you get a drink down you :)
Right Woofy ..I had an early menopause due to a hysterectomy .I had no joint pains really ( just the sweats etc and the mood swings )but then afterwards I got the joint pains ,rheumatoid thingy which burnt itself out ,although I still get attacks now and again and I've now got severe osteoarthritis .Cheerful 'innit !
Keep taking the tablets:)
Face cream Robinia ? I used to use Nivea pre thyroid diagnosis as my skin was so dry ,now I find Nivvy to greasy .I'm using a cheap one from Aldi at the moment ..very good too
here
shaneythat is brilliant, marm and I were talking about this only yesterday and I couldn't remember what it was called. I also have very dry skin and yes normal Nivea is so greasy. I will get some of that Aldi stuff in August.
Someone on Pickle's thread has talked a lot of sense (to my mind) and is getting slated for it. It's not me in another guise; although they are green. I have actually stuck up for her without being disloyal to pickle!
They also do another one which is very good Neti
It's called Lacura Balancing Day Cream with avocado oil .It'sabout the same price and there is one Lacura with Rose Oil .It's in a sort of pump bottle .You only need a bit and it sinks right in and doesn't leave a greasy film on your skin .
I can't stand stuff that makes me face shiny because I don't wear powder or that other stuff either on a regular basis !
I do dab a bit of Creme Puff on in the winter if I look a bit jaded though .
