How to split rent?!?

I and 3 other roommates are planning to move into a new home, i and one roommate intend on sharing the master. The others insist that rent($1250) is split evenly but added an extra cost for having the master. I do not see how this would be fair. Why should i pay the same amount, if not more, to share a room as a person with his/her own room?! I suggested what others have told me. Rent is charged by room, if you want to get technical you can do it by square foot. Also if a room is being shared then the price for that room is split between the two. Now, all other bills and utilities are to be equally divided in fours. Of course the master should be more rent but not to each who occupies it! Is there an easy solution to sort the prices out before i present it to the other roommates?

Please help!
