Pruning Shrubs

[Robinia]

Have any of you lovely gardeners hard pruned, into old thick wood, any of the following shrubs and had them live to see another year?!!  I read all the books but there's so much conflicting advice when it comes to renovation pruning.

Olearia haastii (Daisy bush)

Lonicera fragrantissima (winter honeysuckle - think this one will be ok)

Cotinus (smoke Bush).

No Neti, I haven't got enough jawbone there to support an implant.....fate and my own doing. The bone density there is poor anyway and i faffed about before deciding to have it done then DH was ill and there was a long gap before I could get it done again and I lost more bone...having said that I would deffo have another implant elsewhere if I needed it and if we could afford it.

Another 1¼ hrs at the dentists, they found that my root was doubled back on itself so there was more to get out, now have stitches and a throbbing mouth, they even had another dentist there to get the final bit of root out, she was no nonsense, and kissed my head when it was finally free. Am in agony again and was so happy when I woke up. Have a bridge thing in with the tooth there for cosmetic reasons but cannot bite for a week. am utterly fed uo and going back to bed with aspirin!!!

not so far as i know Neti, just very quiet. I slept this morning to make up for last night, have been doing odd jobs then I went shopping.

I have just sat wondering why Lottie had said 'looks like they've all one to bed'...and I realised I was on the first page, not last, haha.
Anyway, speaking of moving, suggestions on a postcard please...
