Wooden cladding or York stone?

Sorry Tilly I don't know - you know the kind that looks like PVC.
Tongue and groove?
Question Author
deffo no tongue and groove - that is what my last kitchen was - glad to see the end of it. Just sort white with a either sparkle or marble effect. Googled it there and there are some nice ones. It is early days with me yet. It is just I wanted to know the trade.
I think I know the sort Connie refers to. My friend has it in her shower room. It looks like granite/ stone blocks, but it's some sort of plastic.
That's it Ummmm
Why not just paint the walls white? It'll be much cheaper.
conn, is your kitchen finished ?
Question Author
Yes Anne - I did tell yous all last night - it turned out really lovely particularly has been set off with the striplights put in today by electrician. Really pleased with it indeed but TG no more workmen altho they were gents.
wouldn't that give condensation, though, conne? The paint you use in kitchens is formulated to cope with steam etc. Tiling effects etc just get wet.
sorry conn, I must have missed your post, the cladding sounds nice, a change from paint or wallpaper, just take your time to decide, and enjoy your kitchen :)

think I will go with boxy - paint will do in the meantime - I do believe if I get this paint it is "industrial". Anyway cladding will probably be too expensive - I have been out enough money.

Good night all. Am away to bed.

scrivens - tiling is now old-fashioned??? according to young ones - you go up the wall about 3" with the worktop. That is what I am doing - I am going to be young for a change. LOL
I'd recommend Johnsons washable matt for the walls.
Tiling isn't old fashioned.
Coloured glass is the latest thing but can be expensive if they have to cut around lots of sockets / switches.
