hoover smell

Recently while hoovering I have noticed a smell from my hoover, not very pleasent I have emptied it and everything. Has anyone any ideas how I can get rid of the smell.

I haven't got an answer but I hope someone has because I have the same problem. I have emptied it and washed all the filters. I have even put one of those smelly hoover sachets in the bag.

Well you could try tipping out some fragrant talcolm powder on the floor and hoovering it up .. it might help at least to mask it ....

Yep,happening with me too. I wonder if you hoovered up bicarbonate of soda,which is great for soaking up smells,would it work?

butterfly - I & our daughters use those little fragrant sachets especially made to slip inside vac bags - they're very good & seem to last a long time.

Hi what I do is use a cotton wool ball and put 5 drops of lavendar or lemon essential oil on it, then pop it in the vac, lovely,
