Help! I've drowned my he be! Didn't realise there was no drainage in the display basket I stood it in , consequently it's been standing in water. Shall I dry it out and prune back, leave alone, or throw it out? Thankyou for any help

Do not prune. Wrong time of the year. You could try draining it or just leave it. My three are thriving despite being soaked everyday forever (or so it seems) ;-)

General information on hebes here which could be helpful
Just let it drain through naturally rather than dry it out.
Re-pot with some good compost, plus grit in the bottom preferably and hopefully it should recover. Good luck.
Thank you for BA Mags.
I wouldn't leave it standing in water, I would definitely dry it out and also see about putting some drainage holes in for the future.
If the soil is sodden dry it out as much as possible. Try getting it out of the container. Use something like kitchen towel changed regularly to blot as much moisture out of the soil. Repot. If stems are mushy, it may have gone too far, and can’t be saved.
