What does your dog sleep on/in?
Does it have a basket of some description? What sort of bedding in it??
Does it sleep in a crate, if so what bedding is inside? Does it have a cover for winter?
Does it have a dog bed? What’s it like??
I have fleeced for each of them and they all sleep on the settee or floor.... I do have a crate as one of mine was a great chewer and he has a fleece in there. He only uses it to eat in now, but they all occasionally lie in it too.
Sally owned the sofa...she never put her boney bottom on the floor. She had a dog bed upstairs and used it when she had to. As she got older, she slept on my bed in the winter.
The dog bed was moved downstairs for Sammi. He slept there, on the old cat bed, on the floor, and on the sofa...sometimes. Upstairs there were old folded duvets in old covers in my room and the box room. He liked to rearrange them.
Roger the Staffie will sleep anywhere, just curls up and is away. Bruno the Rottie/Staffie cross curls up on the blankets in the corner of the room until he thinks we are asleep then he will try and join us on the bed, amazing how often he gets away with it ;-)
I miss a dog on the bed. It’s taken Rodders 9 months to actually go upstairs whilst we’re up there. He won’t stay long though, as he gets too nervous. I think he was probably hit for going upstairs. I’m determined to get him there, though will mostly likely regret it when the whole lump of him has taken up all the bed.
Poppy sleeps on our bed on a fleece ! Shes only little and she doesn't stir or fidget. When get up, one of the cats sleeps on the fleece during the day! Poppy also has two baskets downstairs, but prefers the sofas!
Tilly has a cushioned, cuicular bed in the sitting room and we have a stair gate to stop her coming upstairs. However, at her age she would not be capable of climbing the stairs but the stair gate stays. Previously, we had a GSD, a Staffie and a Lhaso Apso on our bed with us. It was a bit of a squeeze. :-)
Colin and Jess both sleep downstairs where they have a choice of furry dog cushions a leather sofa covered in fleece blankets, a leather armchair or a chaise longue.
They don’t come upstairs because that is the cats area
Why the bed or why the soft woof? The soft because everyone I know now who has dogs puts them in a cage in a kitchen as though that's the way to go. I could never do that but I suppose letting a big dog sleep on the bed is giving in to them too much.
Prudie, provided the bed is big enough, I dont see a problem...and when the burglar breaks into the house I don't want my dog shut away where he can't have a bite!
