What New Curtains To Buy?

I am moving into my new(Sheltered Housing) flat on March 15th.

As I value the opinions of all ABer's,I am posting links to Dunelm curtains.They are all Blackout Curtains.

The walls are a soft magnolia (boring,but I don't intend to change them),so any colour of curtains would go with that.

I'm sorry but I don't particularly like any of them, just shows how different we all are.

We don't have any patterned curtains or patterned wallpaper in our house, all the interest and colour in our house comes from all the paintings, drawings, embroideries, etc., covering the walls, colourful cushions, and interesting artefacts.

And all our curtains have blackout lining, which not only keeps the bedrooms dark but also keeps the glaring sun out in the summer to keep the rooms cool.

I must admit to not liking wallpaper.  I do love pictures cushions  and artefacts  though.  Some would call our house cluttered and it probably is.  Apart from our bedroom all our  curtains remain open 24 hours a day.  Probably a lot of spiders webs!

You are going to ask WHY,as I don't think many(if any) of you liked them

Why,well in 1981 my late partner and I went on Safari in Kenya,and so the images on the curtains(both for bedroom & living room)bring back very happy memories.Besides which,if you look at the animals in the design,they have a lot of humour in them.

Thanks for ALL your comments & suggestions,they really did make it gel, and I have carefully considered,and it's definitely safari.

See, that's something we didn't know about, and that's why perhaps not many went for those.

Dunelm has a great chart on their curtains page,to assist me with the measurements.

Sadly,I have way too much bedding already,so I will have to avoid looking at those pages!LOL

Gordon, please get the matching bedding. It isn't expensive and you could always give some of your old bedding to the homeless or a charity.

No I only like bright colours. Too many dark colours plunges the room into blackness if you match cushions too
