Am I the only one who has solar garden lights only to find the following year, if you are lucky.!! they don't work anymore.? I have bought rechargeable batteries household, rechargeable ,supposed to work on garden light batteries. And NON of them work after the first charge.????? The same as the garden lamps once the top of the solar panel goes all cloudy they will not work anymore either.!! There must be someone, somewhere that sells only the tops for these lamps , so you do not have to buy the whole thing again.! Can someone help me please.?
I have the same problem and the only way is to store them inside during the winter which is a real pain - it's not just the batteries that don't work but the lights are badly designed so that you have to replace them so more profit for the makers!
Eland101 is right... but I do find that when I store them in the winter, I use a small piece of paper to insert between the contact and the battery, the way it was when I bought it. So far, they all work when rejuvenated in the spring...
