Indesit Washing Machine

asking for a friend who has just got a new Indesit washing machine - how does she get the door open?

Do you mean get it open after a wash has finished? A hefty thump with the side of the hand should do the trick. Failing that, some fine twine/fishing wire wound round the door to release the catch.

Our Indesit just has a handle.

Has the glass maybe stuck to the rubber seal and needs a bit more pull to release?

Perhaps it needs the power to be "on" before it will open.

With my Zanussi you have to turn the dial to off or zero before you can open door. (When wash has finished dial stays on programme that you set it)

Hasn't she got an instruction manual?

Trouble is...we don't know if this is a brand-new machine that hasn't yet been opened (and the manual is often inside!).

Yes brand new, elderly lady who is finding the manual hard to understand. Got it open now, something to do with having pressed 'pause' button so had to wait for that to complete its cycle.

If it's that pause bit lankeela, usually there is a few beeps after that to let you know the door can now be open (Good she has it open now )
