Trying to work out sizes of my shed!

I'm Sugar at maths, especially working out decimals.But that's beside the point.
Which is the easiest way.

Use a metric tape measure and measure in centimetres. The length and width are the usual measures but you might as well measure the height too.
As for decimals 100cm = 1 metre.

Fill it full of water and then use pint milk bottle to collect the water as it comes out of the keyhole. That way you will know its volume.

Try putting different size matresses in until you find one that fits exactly

Find a cardboard box supplier and buy several cardboard boxes of 1 metre in each dimension, make them up and see how many you can fit in the shed.

Breed and train inchworms to form orderly queues so you could simply count off the inches as the worms line up along the edges of the shed.

it's more complicated than I thought! so you're saying 2 inchworms to 5cms - she may have to use centipedes then as they are already decimalised...

Millipedes? Just for total accuracy of course...

I don't think you would get total accuracy because the milipede has a greater inclination than the centipede to have a slight oscillation in their stance when in a queue - this I feel would slightly shorten their overall length in a measuring situation...it's a conundrum no doubt about that!

the difference in weight between the 2 readings will be the weight of your garden shed
