Yes, prudie's suggestion will also work. There is a direct equivalence between percentages and fractions and decimals, which works in the following way. 10% really just means "10 per 100", or "10 divided by 100". Thus all percentages can instantly by converted into a fraction by taking the number that's the given percentage, and writing it instead as a...

Sherrard and Jim be friends now please...i have another question later...lol you will be so annoyed with me...;-).
Dizmo, to be fair, most of you were so helpful in your own ways, and helped me build up my confidence over night on percentages general maths etc. This is why i asked on here, although a small clever clog minority would try to put me down, it only upset me because i have been under stress with my mother being in hospital, so was over sensitive yesterday, any other day i would have ignored them. It will not put me off asking on here again, as most of you are wonderful people, and have always been there to support me, no matter what i have asked (even silly things) . xxxx

phleb: Even the 'small clever clog minority' are good people at heart. I think that sometimes we all say things we don't really mean and because we are so proud can't retract such statements. I've never seen any real issue (whilst being on AB since 2010) with anyone who posted on this thread. The small minority like to have heated debates - in a way it is what makes AB. However it isn't nice for the person receiving the 'abuse' especially whilst under stress. My step father is in hospital with leukaemia and they have now told us that he will not be out for Christmas.
