I believe Abbey mentioned having dyspraxia last year...which would go a long way to explain some of her difficulties

I understand it not easy finding somewhere close but when you already work you don't want to leave

i dont understand how you dont have an imperative to get into paid work! who pays for your rent?  food? toiletries?

most people wouldnt work if they didnt have to pay for things, they would swan around doing 3 hrs voluntary work when they felt like it

but that's not how life works

Abbey do you really work 15 hours a day twice a week at the kennel?

Abbey is that a typo on the hours at the kennel?

bedknobs. mum and Dad

Twice a week for 3 hours ?

I know that why I'm saying people prefer voluntary but then it's important to enjoy your job aswell

enjoying your job is important, but not as important as being able to buy food and have somewhere to live!

Do you think whoever DOES work to fund your layabout lifestyle doesn't get tired and enjoys their job everyday? The money has to come from somewhere. If it is your parwnts enabling you, what's gonna happen when they finally get fed up? Or die?

Is the dog-walking three hours in total or two lots of three?

Question Author

No I can come and go when I like

Abbey, are you posting on here while you are at work?

Have you ever considered doing dog-walking as your main job?  A big demand in this area for dog-walkers.

No I'm not in work

You could do the dog walking any time then or not at all if needs be?

I want to do dog walking for a living

Abbey, if you want to do dog walking for a living, you may not be able to choose your hours.

The dogs owners might need you first thing in the morning and late at night.

Also, and I don't know if I'm right here, but you may need insurance in case anything happens to the dog while you are in charge of it.

Finally an honest, clear and definitive answer.

Use that as a goal to aim for.

Stick in at both jobs, build up some savings - so forget about splashing out on more new clothes.  Once you have some money behind you, look in to setting up a dog walking business.  You'll need to consider insurance, advertising etc.

Don't mess the Care Home about by asking for more hours only to drop them in the future - when you ask to drop them, they may grop them all if they feel you are mucking them about.

There are already about 50 dog walking firms where Abbey lives !

Setting up a business seems to me to be well out of this posters wheelhouse. This is someone who can barely decide what pants to wear.

Much more realistic imo is getting a job for a dog walking business
