Yesterday I got a txt from my job at the care home to say there is no point doing 3 hours per week so will send my p45 and next week wages. Think I might have told you this but they reduced my hours from 30 to 9 hours per week I'm now in a cleaning job cleaning houses 21 hours per was longer Monday-Wednesday but I'm not sure about so hoping to do warehouse work.I regret my decision now to change my days in the care home. I've not had a good day today as supervisor giving me a hard time saying I haven't touched things when I've tried to clean them and it's bad cleaning she find it hard to believe I was a cleaner . They reckon I'm not listening but concentration is my weekness

Abbey, some places DO take people back on again - but I think the chances of that happening for you are nil! You couldn't live on 8/9 hours a week anyway, so you'd only be there until you got something better. I'm afraid they wouldn't find that a great plan for them - and who could blame them?

Question Author

Well no or could say if I came back would consider giving me at least 20 per week but if they said no I'd say not bother.

Abbey, did they give you your hours back when you asked before? No. Did they change your shifts when you wanted them to because you had a new job? No. Do you think they see you as a highly valued (former) employee?

PS Even 20 hours would be of no use to you, of course.

Question Author

No it's not. This job tho they sent a girl home today as she apparently spoke to the owner like *** which I thought companies gave me warnings for.

Abbey, forget about the care home. Forget about things happening to other people. Concentrate instead on trying to get a job that you can do, that you like and that lasts more than a couple of months. It's good that you have the luxury of being able to work only part-time - I don't know many 30-year-olds who could do that (even for a short time, never mind months).

Question Author

It's not enough for me really. I just wish I'd gone to that warehouse rather thinking about care home.

Abbey, the warehouse job might not have worked out either. You might now feel that it would have been perfect, but that's partly because the recent jobs have all ended up ... not working out!

Question Author

It might it might but was with an agency

Question Author

Hopefully I get a warehouse jon soon

... and hopefully the job would go better this time, fingers crossed.

Question Author

Yeah I'm only not giving up on warehouse yet as they wanted an ex employee back so had to get rid of someone buy cleaning or admin I stay away from now.

Maybe you've answered this on another thread, Abbey, but I can't find it  ....  how did it go at the laundry today?

Question Author

Not great

What was the problem?

Question Author

Not reaching the standards they looking for and not enjoying it

It's only your second day there, Abbey, you can't be expected to do a perfect job till you are acquaint with the routine.  Don't fret.x

Question Author

That what they expect as there's a boy that started yesterday and said he grasped really well

How many staff work there?  The laundrette here often just has two people working in it but there is also a self-service area.

Question Author

Like 4 per shift including supervisor and I didn't get shown till I asked for it

Abbey, it's only hour second day. Everybody has to learn, and as I - and others - have said before, not everyone enjoys their jobs, but have to work.
