I agree that she should be focusing on roles like that, Naomi- I never said anything about high flying jobs.... but IMO she still needs to prepare for any application and interview. She usually gets sent a job spec/person spec- she should use it to check she's suited and to prepare a case for her being shortlisted/offered the role.  Just winging it is not a good way of approaching an application or interview.

Abbey, seriously do ever ask the opinion of your parents ? They are surely the ones who will be honest with you and help . They also know your strengths and weaknesses .

With Christmas approaching many shops will be hiring temporary workers to meet increased demands. On your next day off why not go around town and see what's available BUT remember that you will probably not be able to chose the hours and days you work

Maybe say a full time came up in selco which I was working for a few months but now they put a ban on overtime?

I do not know why you might be struggling to get a job ? I don't know you well enough. Might it be that your reputation precedes you ? I suggest asking for feedback. At worst the employers can opt not to tell you.

Yet again you are focusing on coming up with a lie about your work patterns. You've not really read or accepted any of the well meaning suggestions you've had. I fear that you've been so protected on here that you can ask questions like why do you struggle to get a job in the knowledge that no-one can tell you the probable real reason becasue they either get told off or removed. I have said in the past, none of this is doing you any favours whatsoever unless this is all just because you need the online connection irrelevant of what is said.

Abbey, your planned thing to say, about Selco, is not really the truth - and I think that's a big part of your problems. You'll have to face up to dealing with how you have coped - or failed to cope - in most of your recent jobs. I know that not every job is a perfect fit for every person, but you've had opportunities and not made anything of them.  I'm sure you must realise that you can't go on like that for ever, and you're still young enough to turn things round.

Because you're more interested in what outfit should I wear to a party that I don't really want to attend and why do these people ignore me than you are interested in building a career.

Take a long look in the mirror and think seriously about what you really want.

Party girl wearing the latest fashion or career girl earning money in a stable environment.

And no, I'm not suggesting you work with horses!!

I know this has been explained several times but I will try once more.

Overtime and full time hours are 2 different things.  If they had offered you full time hours they would not be able to reduce due to an overtime ban.

It is common for companies to have overtime bans but very very rare for them to reduce full time hours.

Yes that and recruitment ban so if I left now they won't replace me until the new year.

Abbey, I know I've mentioned this before, but why not look at waitressing jobs?

The need for accuracy, interaction and minor problem solving may rule service out.

You have unrealistic expectations.... You need to work around the needs of the job not expect the job be adjusted to fit in with your life outside it.  It's obvious you struggle with criticism  however well meaning,  seem unable to learn job roles and requirements to an acceptable standard,  haven't even got a clue how to present yourself for the workplace.  I suggest going back to learning, courses are often free if you are out of work or on low income and get some proper skills.  If you have more to offer you might do better but  as things stand you look like a bad bet on paper, no loyalty, no real flexibility and considering your age you have about as much to offer as a school leaver.  You need to have a good long think about what you can do,

I suspect you have some underlying mental health issues, ask the job centre to refer you to a disability employment advisor, they can help find suitable work and provide support while you get established.

rowan has captured it - you appear to be unsuitable for all the jobs you apply for/get.

you dont appear to be a reliable member of staff or willing/able (?) to learn even the most basic (to most people) of things your job expects from you.  The problem is that when someone can't even cope with cleaning or washing there's not much options for simpler tasks in the workplace

Maybe working with dogs would be more suitable...dog-sitting,or working around kennels et c

The job centre were useless I'm just about to search courses like I did online during covid. Think you need to drive to be a dog walker and course for that cost £300

What do you mean can't cope with cleaning?

Naomi most waitress work is overnight when I looked

Why can't you get evening work?

Abbey, most places to eat and drink are open all day.
