My son has been cautioned for ABH and I am trying to get the caution expunged for many reasons not least because he was defending himself. The 'victim' had no visible injury and sought no medical attention, I can't find a definitive definition of ABH - is there one? Also a caution stays on record until you are 100 years old and can stop you working in all kinds of jobs (my son lost his job instantly), How many people are aware of this or have been led to believe it is the easy option?

so if the caution is spent and gets dropped after 5 years , does that mean you will have your finger prints dna destroyed too?

and will there be any record if you apply for crb
so if the caution dropped after five years , does that mean the finger prints records are destroyed automatically and if you apply for crp it will not show ?
Going by memory a caution can only be given if someone at the minimum pressed for charges and wrote a statement. if no one made a statement then it wouldn't matter if the offender even admitted to it in interview it would be NFA'd.

This was reference to a guy trashing a pub and since the landlady only called police but didn't decide to fill a statement out or press for charges even though the offender admitted it no caution could be given.

Domestics are high priority and self defense is an admittance of assault, so now it will be justified in the mags (should have just gone "no comment"). Im pretty sure there has been some tinkering going on with the pol and CPS for them to push for a charge especially if your son is known to the pol.

Let us know how it goes im fairly certain he will win if there isn't even a statement from the victim.
Parody for an Enchanced CRB check all cautions, warning indictable offences from however long will show. On a stardard CRB check that only goes back 5 years then no.
RE: fingerprints and DNA being destroyed.

DNA was trialed several years back and the DNA samples were destroyed however the government likes it so much that they keep the samples forever just like the fingerprints.
