no insurance

I was recently stopped on the road doing 80mph in a 30 zone. I have no insurance, tax or M.O.T. I passed my test 6 moths ago and bought a cheap car but could not afford to buy any of these things.
I dont believe you need insurance of M.O.T as long as you drive carefully. I am due in court next week can anyoe please tell me what punishment I can expect to get I;m a little worried I might lose my licence?

In the UK insurance and MOT is mandatory, not an option.
You will get banned from driving and a fine.
No insurance - 6 or 8 points, and a fine up to 5000.
No Mot - fine up to 1000
Speeding - between 3 and 6 points, a fine up to 1000 and disqualification if more than 30mph over the limit.
As you passed your test less than 2 years ago you will revert to learner status when the disqualification ends.
You will have to take the theory test, the practical test and display L plates and be accompanied until you do.
You either have a very strange sense of humour if this is a wnd up, or you are incredibly stupid.

You poor soul. It's not fair that there are so many jobsworths out there ready to punish conscientious objectors like yourself when they should be out catching law breakers.
When you do go to court stand up for your rights. Refuse to recognise the court. Tell the police and magistrate exactly what you think of them. You'll end up in prison but that's a small price to pay for sticking to your beliefs.

If you dont attend the court - then they will let you off as it would be against your human rights to have an MOT and insurance. So long as you keep your speed below 100 (other than on motorways of course) then they will know that you are a safe driver and will not bother taking things further.
Dont worry if they take your license away - you can just say that you dont believe in those either and that will be all right too.
PS Is this a wind up or are you really that stupid and irresponsible
PPS If you are as stupid and irresponsible as you appear to be - ignore this answer and just walk in future

I think you are all being a bit harsh. I was fully intending to get insurance if and when I had an accident, relying on the person involved would agree to say if happened at a later date, I dont think that's so bad?
As for a M.O.T, my best friend is a mechanic and he said the car looked ok. I think it would be unfair for me to lose my licence! And they cant crush my car can they?

I think springbulb is right - you are all being a bit harsh!
Don't listen to them springbulb - listen to me.
Explain to the court that if you had an accident you were going to ask the other person involved to lie about the date. This should ensure that you don't get done for the lack of insurance.
Now that's sorted, let's move onto the MOT. Get your mate to take the day off work and he can be a witness for you to explain that he thought the car looked OK.
We now need to deal with the fact that you were doing 80MPH in a 30MPH zone. I think if you repeat your earlier argument about driving carefully at 80 MPH then if you believe it strongly enough then I think you'll convince the court.
You can now walk free.

Use your day in court to highlight the injustice of your situation. If you're defending yourself it would impress the court if you dressed up with a gown and wig, you can hire them from a joke shop.
Remember you want a fair trial so you're entitled to query the independenace of the magistrate. You're entitled to ask if any of the policemen are masons. You're entitled to ask if the magistrate uses rent boys. You're entitled to reject the Bible and use the Viz Profanosaurus to swear an oath. Show them you know you're rights.
Point out that the Magna Carter is the British bill of rights and doesn't impose speed limits. Point out that MOTs and insurance are just stealth taxes and part of the nanny state.
Explain that becuase you've just passed your test then you're better prepared to be on the road than someone who passed their test years ago.
The clincher will be to invite the magistrate to go for a drive. Demonstrate how you can drive safely at 90mph, why red lights are a pointless nuisance and do this while swigging some WKD. A couple of do'nuts and handbrake turns in the court car park would help.
Let us all know how you get on. Am sure they'll give you access to t'internet in prison.
