David Tennant will be seen raping his wife in a horrific 70-second scene in The Politician’s Husband.
The scene will be shown just after the 9p.m. watershed.

What I *am* saying is that you exhibit, time and again, a profound understanding of Rape and what it actually is.
Being asked to have sex with a woman (even if 'she' referred to it as rape) is *not* the same thing at all. It was a Force Fantasy.
I really can't do the thinking for you on this......

/On what basis do you assume it's a piece of work by intelligent, talented and thoughtful artists? /
prudie
I'm not assuming anything:
Emily Watson: multiple award winner and nominee including BAFTA for Best Actress
David Tennant: ditto including a BAFTA and an Olivier
Simon Cellan Jones (director): nominated for Best Newcomer by British Academy
Paula Milne (writer): leading screenwriter; critically acclaimed TV work over 40 years
That is my evidence of their talent, intelligence and ability to think and create worthwhile work
What is your evidence to the contrary?
BTW Is there a clue in your name or is that just a coincidence?

Sqad, i cannot believe that you are unable to differentiate between a fantasy enactment between two consenting adults who are already intimate, and a robbery-with-violence assault, which is what rape is.
Rape is not about sex, it's about power and control. The notion of a woman having a fantasy about taken forcefully in a safe environment with a man she trusts is a long long way away from a woman being forced into sex of any description against her will and consent.
For the benefit of the increasing numbers of uneasy correspondents on this thread, why not clear up any misconceptions and confirm that you do understand the difference between the two sets of circumstances, and that what took place between you and your girlfriend was clearly a universe away from the act of rape - regardless of what she may have said at the time.

Well - I've sat back and watched Zeuhl have his anticipated rant. He sure scattered his toys around. Was it all necessary Zeuhl?
I still consider the 'sadistic' scenes are unnecessary.
Oh yes, Zeuhl you asked why I used the word sadistic.
It wasn't mine - it is a sub-headline from an article in the 'awfu;' gutter press'.
