Out of nowhere, Peter Capaldi has become the hot favourite...I think he would be a brilliant Doctor, but I wonder whether BBC execs might think he's too old for the show's core demographic.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for Russell Tovey, or Idris Elba as a massively outside chance.

I'm not sure, to be honest.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, most of the 'names in the ring' would only be happy to commit to the part for a short time.........and that does actually matter, if you are a sad-sack like me and have been keeping tally on the number of Regenerations Dr Who has undergone.......LoL

Agree Capaldi may be a bit old and does resemble the last 2 Dr's. I'd like to see more of Idris Elba on TV :) Benedict Cumberbatch would be a good choice too.

As for the amount of regenerations, this should be the last so where exactly does John Hurt's Doctor fit in?
