I mean they only seem to have three subjects that they seem to find amusing, Trump, Boris and brexit. What are they going to do now, these right on comedians that infest the BBC and Channel 4? Perhaps they should try and broaden their appeal outside their London centric narrow virtue signalling view point and start actually making the rest of the country laugh.

Tim Vine's one liners are funny. Bob Mortimer on Would I Lie to You is hilarious
Osteologists (wow! big word for me!) have written to TV execs on me behalf to say that I was born with an extraordinarily long funny bone (just sayin')...
Emms, I don't see a lot of the Marx Bros in either Python or Vic and Bob to be honest, but they were one of the few acts to inhabit two different types of comedy, with Harpo's slapstick and Groucho and Chico's brilliant wordplay. I do see an awful lot of Milligan in Python, and a lot of Python in some modern comedy, but as a Goon Show fan, I'll admit to being biased.
Dorothy Parker who i admired greatly was one funny woman. Some of her one liners would put many modern comedians to shame
yes i see that Mozz, i am not an expert on the Marx Brothers, but the Sky arts profile opened my eyes to their brilliance.
Mally, I agree about Bob Mortimer. He's so quick witted, and the far funnier of the two. He was wonderful on Taskmaster, and his fishing show with Paul Whitehouse is a delight.
Dorothy Parker

"You can lead a *** to culture but you can't make her think."
that should say ***....
term for lady of the night, blinking hell
I'm no expert either Emms, but I can sit and watch Groucho's put downs all day. I still enjoy watching the great silent films when I can too: Laurel and Hardy, Harold Lloyd, Keystone Cops, Buster Keaton etc
Mozz I too am a great fan of the Goons and Gone Fishing, which I only discovered recently, is a delight.
i can watch Chaplin, he was a genius, but it was rather pathos, than outright comedy that used to get to me.
I wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member

Groucho Marx....
Obviously comedians who dwelt on Trump for some of their work will have to rethink but for others it won't make much difference.

I like lots of modern comedians, often the more irreverent the better (but not cruel in a personal sense).

I used to find Frankie Boyle cruel, which i didn't like or find funny
Has anyone mentioned Milton Jones, from Mock the Week, or is it only me that likes him?
now i like him, he can be very funny, offbeat with a strange surrealism about him.
You're not alone wiltsman, I find him funny too.
My favourite Groucho one liner was "I've had a wonderful evening, but this wasn't it."

Margo, there were some brilliant radio comedies back in the day, if you like The Goons. Navy Lark and Round The Horne are also absolutely wonderful.
Mozz, that's great isn't it....
