I'm not sure but, if I were to buy one, I'd have a Peugeot.
Have had both Citroen and Renault in the family ,with both cars had horrific electrical problems, i.e. doors not locking/opening, warning lights coming on when no problem, (spent a fortune in Citroen Garages having the codes checked and cleared) although they seems to have the designs sorted out now I will stick to German cars. So to answer your question I do not think there is a French quality car until they sort out their problems. BUT IF I had to pick out of the three i it would be Peugeot.
Me too. But I wouldn't.
We are now on our 2nd Citreon, never a problem with either, great cars. However the one in the link aint so great. :-)

I must admit, i've never liked shitruns, Sylvia had a renault clio but that had faults, and I used to have a Pug. Out of the 3, I would go for a Pug
Peugeot do quite jolly little soft top at the mo.

Not sure what it's called.
i have had and work on Peugeots and never really had any major issues, all the guys who work here in the bodyshop hate anything french !!
I have heard so many horror stories about Citroen which is a bit odd as they come out of the same factorys as Peugeot and many of the parts are the same.
they tend to give way at junctions to mercedes, bmw, vw and audis..
I have owned all 3, the peugeot is the best IMO, the others seems to be prone to problems
None. Go German (ish). VW/SEAT/Skoda, BMW, Opel/Vauxhall, even Mercs are built properly nowadays but make sure if you go Merc get a post 2007 model otherwise it will fall apart and cost you money. Lots of money.

Jap and Korean cost a fortune in spares. Cheap to buy, dear to keep.
Peugeot&Citroen are both PSA, so buy the cheaper if they are the same car.
Citroen quality is much better now, also some Peug are Mitsubishis.
Diesels are the best bet.
Renault not as good....
