I was asked same question yesterday when I made a tentative enquiry for a quote on line.A ridiculous question.I passed my test shortly after my 17th birthday in1967.I just gave a guess date.I don't think it would affect your insurance if you gave a guesstimate on that date
actual dates are required so they can assess kids' roadworthiness. For those driving for 50 years it's not a problem... though of course you might want to underestimate it.
