It's mainly cosmetic.  I think the only variations in standard equipment is that the Renault has a steel bulkhead as standard and possibly the Nissan too, but not the Vauxhall (Legal requirements are coming in to require one, unless you only drive it yourself). We were right at the point of choosing one but requirements changed. Go to each dealer and play one off the other for the best price and see what they'll throw in to the deal- You'd be surprised - Especially if you buy just before a new numberplate comes out(it makes a difference in cars, but you NEVER win when selling or trading in a Van). Also, try this excellent site for more in depth info:

www.whatvan.co.uk

As another suggestion, not answering your question, but be sure to check out the Citreon Relay/Peugeot Boxer/Fiat Ducato combinations. We had a top of the range Renault Master hired down to Stirling - 200 odd miles Excellent Van!! - and then we tried the Citreon. Honestly, if you're not a badge snob - It's just as good and much cheaper. Good luck with whatever you decide. But really consider the options and get the best deal you can.

Sorry, just came back on and realised, I was talking about the next size up for vans. Sorry 'bout that - I wouldn't be surprised if it still holds true, but the other things still stand - Play them off each other and check out the above site. Sorry for mucking you about...

No No, dont be sorry its really quite helpful because i was thinking of something bigger aswell.

The Primastar etc is just the starting point, not too bothered about badge either just want something Bigish, reliable with resonable performence. Nothing fast or anything but would like to know i could move a big load.

The long wheelbases are alright but I would also be checking out the Interstar and others.

You probably know this too, but also keep an eye on your gross payload. I don't know what you'll be carrying, but the longer the wheelbase and bigger the engine, the less you can carry. You get the best deals on the Medium wheelbase. They all seem to be offloading these - and some long wheel base models. We needed one for Juice from a cash and carry - The long journey meant we wanted to go as little as possible, surprisingly the one that heald the heaviest load was the Short wheelbase. But trying to get someone to sell us one was like Hen's teeth.
Hi, i used to work for a renault dealer and as far as i know there is only a few cosmetic differences. it was renault's design. if you lift the bonnet on the vauxhall or nissan they all have renault part numbers. have an 02 reg for sale if interested.
