Simple DVD-Video player

I want to buy a simple DVD-Video player for my mentally handicapped brother-in-law for Christmas. It must be easy to operate and preferably recording only. Any ideas?

I had hoped to find one which played only as I thought the fewer functions it had the simpler it would be to operate. However, I've discovered that all VCRs record. Anyway, I've now bought a cheap Toshiba combi, which plays DVD & CDs and records Videos, direct from Amazon, which seems simple enough. Thanks for your responses.
