You have to stand outside a supermarket 2 metres apart, and wait until you're told to go in, same at other shops, along with you're mask, you go to the indoor shopping centre, your told to walk in on the one side, and out on the other side, we have jobsworths on the shop doors telling us when we can go in, Yet you can cram yourself on to a plane with total strangers from all over the UK, rubbing shoulders together for an average of 3/4 hours for a holiday abroad, catch the virus may be while your there, and spread it to the rest of the passengers on the 3/4 trip back. So why are Boris and Hancock scratching their heads wondering why the infection is increasing again. Beats me.

I can't understand anyone entertaining the idea of flying abroad on holiday this year, not because I'm worried about catching the virus but because of all the hassle involved with masks and social distancing etc. Couldn't do with it all when I'm on holiday.
Because you don't have to wear them on the beach or round the pool - that makes it worth it in my opinion.
I agree Dave. We had several trips booked before this happened, all of which have been cancelled - including one for the middle of October. I wouldn't bother to re-book any foreign travel until this is over. We'll spend our money in the UK this year. A bit of a much needed boost to this country's economy at least.

12.29 That's may be because they know some people will just not wait so they are losing business, and they think that the wearing of masks has made it safer, ( it has) but only if you still combine the two, masks and social distancing.
21.51, " Mock if you feel better " Exactly. Did it make you feel better when you were mocking Teacake @ 17,24.
Wearing of masks has NOTm made it safer, its just the perception of being safer. No one is wearing them correctly that I have seen, most are just pulling them up in a shop all mis shapen and grubby in some cases. Totally pointless.

All about control by Witless and Hand?Cock with Boris still stuck staring at the on coming headlights. Time for them to go.

So all the science is misconceived and you are right.Don't make me laugh.Any face covering that would contain a sneeze or cough is doing its job.
Naomi24,I think that is what they want, cancel Overseas holidays so you need to boost the economy here,a cunning plan.
If worn correctly then there is a degree (nowhere near 100% even by the 'experts') of protection.

But people dont.

And no I dont think I know better than the experts, many agree that they are pretty useless and could in some cases actually cause problems will build up of bacteria in masks being worn for long periods of time well past their design. May daughter, doctor, is also of this opinion and I remember her saying it years ago when the people in China/Honk Kong region started wearing them all the time.

So laugh all you like, but you are not being afforded the protection you think you are.

^^ If that were correct, it would be a good plan, and the only good one they managed so far.

Except when you get to Bournemouth they will turn you away.

So that havnt got that one right either.

Hopeless lot and to think I backed Boris. How wrong can I have been.

Well its a much better plan than a half price meal at McDonalds, then get on you're repaired bike and exercise it off. You may as well ride round the streets on you're bike sucking a block off lard. :0)
According to the information I have received by email, there will be no mask-wearing by guests in the resort I'm going to. They do a coronavirus test at the airport on arrival, you are met by a driver in your own Mercedes Limo and you are tested again on arrival at the hotel in their own medical centre and your results are back in 20 to 40 minutes. Once your test comes back clear, you are free to do as you please.

The staff wear masks at all time and practise regular hand hygiene. Extra cleaning and sanitation is taking place 24/7.

Yes I'll have to wear a mask on the plane but as far as I'm concerned that is a very small concession to make for a luxury holiday.

Indeed the reviews this week on TripAdvisor by guests staying where we're staying have been excellent and the guests couldn't be happier.
Unsureme, //I think that is what they want, cancel Overseas holidays so you need to boost the economy here,a cunning plan. //

If the government had cancelled our travel plans I might agree - but they haven't. The operators have cancelled them - so in effect, if you are right, would have shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know why the Mercedes limo comes into this? what if the hotel medical room find you have it? plus if you are going to catch it , the chances are it will be on the plane going or coming back.
ymb//But you are not being afforded the protection you think you are.//
As has been stated previously ad nauseam the face coverings are there to protect others, not the wearer.
Every party has its' own transport - so that you are not sat on a coach with loads of others. It's part of the hotel chain's "Infinite Care Protocol."

That's how the Mercedes Limo comes in into it...

You aint seen nothing yet YMB, just wait until Brexit kicks in on 1st jan 2001.
Then you will know what a mistake the UK has made.
Gulliver, 2001 is long gone.
