2 Blokes snogging?

Offensive or not? Was the landlord being a prude here? Do you cringe when you see gays kissing in public?

I heard them talking about this on Radio 2 today. From what I gather a customer complained about the couples PDA. The couple were gently asked to tone it down a bit. They were not immediately asked to leave. After more than an hour of what we have to believe was the same level of getting personal (and we don't know how far it went as we didn't see it) they wer then asked to leave. So it's not just like the LL said you can't kiss because you are gay, get out. The couple then kicked up a fuss and didn't leave until they were informed that one of the people who had since become involved was a plain clothes police officer. To be honest, the gay guy on the radio today sounded like they were purposely making it to be something more than it was. Saying it had made his partner physically ill after. They are now planning to stage a 'kiss in' in that pub tonight. I think it's all a load of bull to be honest and blown way out of proportion. And in my opinion, I don't find it offensive as such to see any couple kissing in public but when you're trying to have a nice drink or meal, who wants to see anybody, gay or not, licking each others faces off. Oh and by the way, this pub is in Soho. You know, homophobic Soho.
Isnt it one of these questions where the answer is "Horses for Courses" - i.e, what is the situation, what is the surrounding etc etc - there are times appropriate for a smooch, for example a couple getting engaged/wedding ann etc. and there are times when it is not like a major snog in middle of a funeral wake. Full on tongue kissing and virtual sex on the banquette is not on.....
However, ultimately this is a personal matter - what is ok for Bill and Betty may be offensive for John and Jill. The suggestions of "lets legislate" are asinine, we may as well start to legislate on picking noses and scratching crotches in public. And no kids in pubs - well that should get anopther 10% of the remaining pubs to close down - great idea, no families allowed.

They were asked to leave, they should have left. I and the company i have been with, have been asked to leave pubs on many occasions (sometimes for just laughing too loud...seriously)
I have witnessed people being asked to stop snogging or leave. IMO another attention seeker. Just accept it, and get on with your life For Funks Sake.
