C'mon this is a bit OTT and your are very rarely OTT.
In this context, the kissing was not a symbol of greeting,but a prelude to the sexual act (whatever that is in gays). Now the next step would be for a man to undo a woman's blouse and give her t1ts a squeeze in public........not my scene, but you may like it :-)

Would a straight couple be asked to leave?

Let's put that to the test - has anyone here on AB ever in their entire lives ever ever ever seen a straight couple being asked to leave a pub, club or bar for snogging?

Thye publican was being squeamish, but for God' sake - the pub is in Soho. That's like owning a cafe in Alice Spring and complaining about the number of kangaroos!

but when do you draw the line? 1 couple snogging ? 4 couples snogging? a dozen couples snogging??

yes sp i have asked a couple to leave the pub due to their tonsil tennis. i asked them several times to stop when they woudn;t they were then asked to leave. ihad a lot of complaints from the customers and it wasn;t a pretty sight

I've had freinds asked to leave a bar because of this when we at uni and college. I was quite happy the staff asked them to leave, it was a fairly revolting sight. I don't mind pecks, hugs, hand holding, pepple gazing in to each others eyes etc... Snoggin like you want to get it on while I'm drining my sauv blanc should be outlawed and I don't care if you're hetrosexua or homosexual.

I haven't read through all the posts, because it is always the same thing over and over again.

Why do some gays try to stretch the limits, is it for the attention they get?

If they behave improper, ie to certain standards, they deserve a reprimand, be them homosexual or heterosexual.

It would be the same if a seventy old man was seen in a pub kissing a 18 year old girl, or a 70 year old woman kissing a 18 boy. It would be offensive to certain people just as these two kissing was.

If they wanted to do something like that they should have chosen a gay bar, lets face it, two Rangers fans would not chose to go into a Celtic pub to drink never mind for a kissing session.

Well then that's R1's phrasing Splat... I think the majority of answers have been along the lines of not crining particularly when gay people are kissing but cringing at couples kissing publically regardless of sexuality.

And I notice that the original story is about kissing, whereas on this thread, it's expanded to 'snogging'.

Now - to me - snogging involves a fairly advance degree of physical contact, whereas what this story suggests is that the blokes had kissed.

This genuinely looks like a case of one rule for the gays, another for the straights. Honestly - I've been going to bars and clubs for 20 years, and never once have I seen a straight couple asked to leave after (as described in the article) a "hands above the table, kiss".

That's not 'snogging' by any stretch of the imagination.

I think the big kiss-in is a brilliant idea by the way. Non-agressive and ultimately fun.

AOG are you now saying that in addition to gays not kissing my 72 year old ex mother in law and her 20 something husband shouldn't kiss or show any display of affection in public? Is that merely because they have a more than average age diference and 'someone' for their own weird reasons might be offended? It intrigues me why people delight in being offended so easily, that either a married couple kissing or a gay couple could possibly in any stretch of the imagination be worthy of such dislike for what is, let's be honest, fairly normal behaviour. I didn't see a reference to anyone snogging anyone's face off, just a kiss.The world is truly utterly nutty if that's all we think we have to worry about.

I agree Sqad on your comment if it was a precurser to a bit of buqqery or a "Monica to Bill" (if that is correct when two men are involved).

However, if it was a heavyish snog in the middle of Soho, (or in some of joggerjayne's city's establishments, or certain Manchester areas) well then that would be ok.

If in my local, then it would be frowned on as that is a family pub and a bit of a gastro pub and I am sure mein host would have them out, even though he is gay.

Though I can also accept that therer may well be some truth of one rule for the heteros and one for the gays.....by the way, would the reaction be the same for two women snogging. Me thinks not, though there should be no difference.
