I don't think children need slapping, they need firm, kind loving teaching of right and wrong. When they are naughty then you deprive them of something they want or always use, best form of discipline I've used and no violence. Good mannered and nice people have grown up from that and I'm happy that my family have followed a similar course with their children. Perhaps it's some parents who need to be taught how to bring up children and how to discipline them not smack them..but nothing is perfect unfortunately.
