Some of these answers are similar to those coming from the media.

There have been similar comments such as, "it was a power thing, in so much as the FA took the decision to removed Terry from the captaincy without first consulting him", and that "he doesn't understand the seriousness of the charge against Terry", etc.

But no one gives him credit for...

Leaving a sinking ship.
Not good,is it....I bet he got tired of the mess John Terry surrounded himself with..and the English press...and anyway, the England team act like spoiled brats when they go to big tournaments...and then fail miserably!

leaving a bunch of clowns who run english football. Capello was the manager, he decides who does what not a committee of faceless suits milking the game for everything they can get
Fabio doesn't realise what he has done, the news is now going to be monopolised by 'news' about the new manager and it will go on for bl00dy ages and I will get pi$$ed off with it. Why did he do it, you don't have to try to apply moral principles to football just money.
You would think that with his £24million fee, he should have been able to afford some Englush lessons.
Contrary to the OP's claim, it's not a courageous action at all - quite the opposite - a cowardly cop-out prior to Euro 2012 because he knows he won't do any better there than his dismal past record with England.

He's the Tim Henman of Football - a nearly man.
I can't imagine why Harry Redknapp, Roy Hodgson or any of the other luminaries being mentioned as likely lads would even want the job!

Great day to be Scottish!
It is 'always' a god day to be Scottish.

Klingons think 'today is a good day to die'...... Not sure where that useless fact came from!
You are a Scot then MR.
For my moneyCapello knew, that night in Bloemfontein
,that England, and the players coming up,were never likely to be a match for the Football played by Spain,Italy,Germany,to name a few.

Even the Senior players "threw a sulk,a long sulk",because they were expressly forbidden from visiting Sun City!

Hell,Sol Kerzner, himself, had sent them"Gold-edged Invitations",Birds and Booze would be laid on.They were to be feted as Superstars!

Fabio may not Speaka di Ingles a too good, but he"s sharp in other areas. He would give an initial display of "Resoluteness and Football sagacity" ,and then been seen on a Saturday,in the stands, like ol"Sven did...and well,Bank loads of money..Like Sven did...easy peasy..
'Great day to be Scottish!'
those days must really be far and few between.
When did Scotland last win any thing?
I smell jealousy.
It is not the winning but the taking part and enjoying yourself that counts.

It is only a game
spot the loch ness monster contest... I think
////It is not the winning but the taking part and enjoying yourself that counts.
It is only a game////

And he made £6 million a year plus, and won nowt, not a bad job wolf63?
"It is not the winning but the taking part and enjoying yourself that counts"

It is about the winning - you ask any sportsman why they do what they do and they will tell you it is to win. Otherwise, what would be the point?

I've played football and rugby for 30 years and I've never, never taken the field and not wanted to win.

Stating its about taking part and not winning is similar to drivers who pass their test at the second attempt telling anybody who will listen that that makes them better drivers.
I'm glad to see him go - but do not want Redknapp to replace him.

But no one gives him credit for standing up for his insistence, that a person is innocent until proven guilty.

It is absolutely disgusting that a country which worldwide prides itself in the fairness of it's justice system, and yet it takes a foreigner to recognise the injustice in all of this.

So much that he is prepared to give up the well paid position as the England manager, and to stand up to a regime (the FA), that it steeped in political correctness.

Mr Capello I salute you.
John Terry strikes me as an odious individual and is the product of an odious family, and I didn't think he was the right man for the job when he was first made captain.

However, my thoughts on Terry aside, the fact of the matter is that at this moment in time he is completely innocent of any crime - if he is found guilty, I hope the odious berk is appropriately punished, but for the FA to strip him of his captaincy for something that is not (yet) proven is, simply, wrong.
