/// Mr Cameron visited a school where pupils said they hoped to be doctors, lawyers or politicians. The PM responded that young Brits just wanted to be famous. ///
Yet more proof of a Premier who thinks more of foreigners than his own people.

/// Wonderful. Thanks Dave for your patronising comments and sweeping generalisations. Your lack of loyalty and support towards the young people of Britain is shameful. You do not deserve to be prime minister. ///

Our society bombard them with images of celebrity culture daily. You can't turn on the television now without having to be subjected to celebrity game shows or psuedo reality progammes. All promising fame and fortune in exchange for selling your dignity and having very little talent.
Let's look at the alternatives. You could spend 4-5 years studying hard at university for an admirable job like nursing. Racking up tens of thousands of pounds worth of debts, only to find at the end of it there are no jobs available to you because the government are closing the hospitals. It's not just nursing it's widespread throughout nearly every industry.
Even if you are lucky enough to get a job you are subjected to poor salaries and extortionate taxes. A huge proportion of degree graduates are out of work or on benefits. There are no incentives to entice our youth into these admirable jobs.
On the flip side you can get paid ridiculous sums of money for being a pop / reality star with very little talent or kicking a piece of dead cow around a field for 90 minutes. Within these fields you seem to be above the law and get away with gratuitously indecent public behaviour, openly abusing drugs and many other laws that we "normal" people have to abide by. Hell you can even get away with being racist with just a slap on the back of the wrist and a paltry fine Mr Terry! In any other profession it would be instant dismissal. These are not the people we want our children to grow up to be surely?
I think "call me Dave" (call me *** more like) is very hypocritical accusing our youth of just wanting to be famous while he openly climbed into bed with Andy Coulson and the Murdoch empire to boost his public image and massage his already huge ego. Surely that's just the same as appearing on a talent show to boost the public perception of you?
Don't get me wrong I hate the "celebrity" culture we seem to be addicted to nowadays but please don't tar all our children with the same brush. Give them opportunities to shine and become valued members of our community and stop the media putting these imbecile "celebrities" up on pedestals for our kids to worship and look up to!
Instead of watching fading "celebrities" diving into a pool why don't we put real children up there. I would much prefer to see school children from around our country battle it out for a place in the final or for a sponsorship deal to be the next Olympian. How about a show called "I want to be a teacher get me in there"?
Whether his comments were in jest or not I think "Call me ***" should man up and give our children more opportunities and not publicly slate them for aspiring to be what our "celebrity" obsessed media keeps ramming down their throats!
Rant over!
