He maybe the *only* MP to have been sacked by the Labour party, and I thought Labour had no qualms about the quality of their MP's. He is now leading a bunch of numpties in a party called Respect. Galloway has long gained the reputation of trying to be controversial and unfazed by the fact he is seen to be ridiculous, ie Big Brother?. Perhaps the real opposition parties find that there is nothing substantive to oppose.
How do you know it is a PR disaster jj? There are just as many people on forums everywhere remembering that the lady did a good job for the UK, no guff. Only ignorance on the part of those who are trying to make a scene of it all, a lot of the people who are acting up like sheep weren't even born when she was PM and probably have no idea about the reasons for the policies she made. I imagine that all the foreign diplomats etc. who will be attending the funeral will be thinking what a tardy disrespectful bunch you all are.
I certainly hope that foreign diplomats and TV cameras carry the message around the world that not everyone in this country is impressed with giving Thatcher a state funeral, or that everyone in this country thought she was a good leader or worthy of respect.
Some commentators in America, Australia, Canada and European countries are appalled at the demonstrations and protests.
Some of the original cast of Wizard of Oz are horrified that Ding Dong has been hijacked by the protesters. I find it amusing that Lloyd-Webber, a Tory Lord, is raking in the profits from the downloads.
The composer of the music in the Wizard of Oz was Harold Arlen. The rights are held by S A Music inc. on behalf of the estate of Harold Arlen. The copyright was renewed in 1971.
The Lloyd Webber (Really Useful Group) West End stage musical adaptation of The Wizard of Oz ran at the London Palladium from March 2011 to September 2012. A Palladium cast recording of the show was released May 2011. Downloads of the songs from this adaptation will result in royalties to Really Useful Group. Downloads of the songs from the 1939 film will not result in royalties to Really Useful Group.
The Really Useful Group's version has reportedly sold very well in the last week.
Maybe they'll use the proceeds to put up a memorial to Thatcher in the House of Lords? :)
"to the more 'technical' areas of intelligent debate "
and whilst you and others like you are spending untold time debating "technical points" out in the real world the damage is being done
just like a lawyer who knows his client is as guilty as hell but will still spend as long as possible to get the person out and back on the streets to commit more crime...all for a technical point
perhaps youd be better off in a debating society trying to score points
