head gone

Hi vauxhall astra 1.7 turbo diesel s reg,
tried to start car but its if starter is jammed tried rocking in gear -jump start no good noticed that all water is gone from
expansion bottle ,also tried tow nothing, could head gasget
be blown if so how can you tell tia

i would say it's a bit more serious than a head gasket. water can enter the cylinders causing the engine to lock hydraulically, but this usually clears over time and the engine will eventually turn over at least.if it is locked, and you have manged to get the engine to turn by tow starting then be prepared for a big repair bill...
